I Love Stamping

Happy Valentine's Day Stamp Lovers!!! Valentine's Day is a special day for us to recognize how much we love someone. But, can we talk about about other things we love too? Of course, my heart is filled with love for my family and they bring me joy like nothing else can. But I also have a great love for crafting...specifically stamping. So, since my blog is a craft blog, I decided to post a project to demonstrate my love for stamping!

While at CHA, I got to visit with John and Barbro and it was so wonderful to see them again. Barbro slipped me a couple of samples from the upcoming collection and I've colored one for you to see today. I think it's the perfect demonstration of my love for stamping. I hope you enjoy it!

I Love Stamping!

This little cutie is called 'Stamp Tilda' and she's currently available as a pre-order at Magnolia-licious. Diana is always quick to get the stamps right away and they ship them as soon as they have them. So get your orders in while supplies last!

Do you see that Tilda is stamping an image of herself? How cute is that!!! I've colored the rubber stamp purple to match the color of the Magnolia rubber... hehe. I really enjoyed coloring this stamp, of course, I enjoy coloring them all! But this one was a really quick color and I completed this whole tag in about 1.5 hours, which is half the time it usually takes me.

The image is colored with Copic markers and backed with a matte that was cut with a SB die. The dp's are from a BoBunny pad from last year. The flowers are from both WOC and Magnolia, with the exception of the black one, which I rolled from a black ribbon from one of my Magnolia DT kits. The pearl in the center of it is from WOC. All of the other embellies are from my stash.

Hey Hey Hey Everyone!!! The day has finally come!!! I've been waiting for quite a while now to show you my new 'Cutie Pies'! I hope you're enjoying the show so far. The Design Team has gone waaaaaaay over the top once again and I couldn't be prouder of them. They are a fabulous Team! Love you all!!! And how about our Guest Designers!!! OMGosh!!! Their work is so amazing and inspirational!!! Thank you so much ladies! I know your schedules are full and I greatly appreciate the time and work that you put into helping with this celebration.

Now, on to the Hop...I'm the last stop so I hope you'll be pleased with my project. If you've arrived here from Sandie's blog then you're on the right track. If not, then you can start from the beginning at Little Darlings Challenges.

This Hop coincides with our Little Darlings Challenge and the theme is 'Favorite Embellishment'. I happen to have a new favorite embellishment and it's 'handmade fabric flowers'. They're a little messy to make but I just love the effect!

Here's my project...

Flowers For You

I colored this sweet little 'Flowers For You' Cutie Pie with Copic markers. I've had her colored for quite a while now and was planning on making a card to show you. For some reason when I sat down to do that, I just wasn't inspired. So, I got up out of my seat and dug through my 'waiting to be altered' drawer. That's where I found this frame. It was just a boring white frame that cost a buck at the local craft store and I've never really had an idea of what to do with it. But, this time, when I looked at it, I got an idea. This is exactly why I buy these things when I find them...cause you never know when you'll be inspired to create something wonderful with them!

Anyway, the dp's are brand new from the BG 'Kissing Booth' 6x6 paper pad. I tore the pieces and decoupaged them to the frame. I made the big pink rolled flower from some silk ribbon and added the string of pearls for a shabby chic touch. The large yellow and dark pink flowers were made from Webster's Bloomers and I added large pearls to the centers. The rest of the flowers are from WOC. The image and matte were cut using SB dies. The feather is from my stash. The gorgeous paper swirls were cut using a Magnolia DooHickey 'Leaf and Swirl' Die. The pearls on the image are from my stash. The beautiful sentiment is from SU.

Hi Everyone!!! I'm still at CHA, but I have a little project to show you with a couple images from Magnolia's 'Sweet Crazy Love' collection. I hope you like it :-)

Cupid's Arrow

The image main is called 'Cozy Siblings', although I'm not thinking of them as brother/sister for this project. That just wouldn't be right ;-) I colored them with a combo of Copic markers and watercolor with DI's. The little 'Cupido' up in the top corner is colored with Copic markers only. Be sure to checkout Magnolia-licious to get your own stamps from this wonderful collection. They're very versatile so you can use them well beyond Valentine's Day. They're available in both regular and mini sizes.

I found the coat hook at a local craft store and covered it with cs cut with SB grand nesties. The heart dp is also from the Sweet Crazy Love collection and it's called the 'Sweet Crazy Love Mini Paper Pack. Magnolia gifted them to me in a wonderful Christmas package :-) The heart doily, pearls and cheese cloth are from my stash. The flowers are from WOC.

LLLC Sneak Peek!

La La Crafts DT

Hi Everyone! Today I'm very excited to show you a card that I made for LLLC's CHA display. LLLC is in Booth #1780 if you're at CHA and want to stop by to see the DT samples in person. I've used two brand new images and created a really cute scene. This card was such a joy to make. I hope you enjoy it!

Marci with Bunny

This little sweetheart is 'Marci with Bunny' and she's sitting in front of the 'Brick Wall Set'. Isn't she just the cutest! This is my favorite image from the new collection. I just love her headband and the way she's so relaxed just sitting and petting that little bunny rabbit. Too cute!!! I have her seated in front of some of the images from the 'Brick Wall Set'. This background set is so incredibly versatile and I just know that I'll be getting a ton of use out of it. Both of these images will be available at La La Land Crafts after CHA in early February.

The beautiful dp's are from MME's 'Rosy' 6x6 paper pad. It was in my LLLC DT kit and I couldn't wait to use them. The colors and patterns remind me of an old french country kitchen. The flowers are from WOC. The black lace is from RRR. The tag is cut with a DooHickey Scalloped Tag die from Magnolia. The black string is from my stash.

I colored the images with Copic markers. Here are the coloring details:

I colored both images with Copic markers. I've been really pressed for time so I don't have the list of markers used...sorry!

Make A Wish!

Hi Everyone! Today I have a very quick post for you. I had a made a card for an advertisement a while ago and wanted to show it to you today. I've used 'Spellcaster Tilda', whom I absolutely adore! I don't see her in the store right now, but there are tons of new Valentine images for you to choose from in the new Sweet Crazy Love collection over at Magnolia-licious. This new collection has made it to the top of my list of favorite Magnolia collections to date. I just love the images and they can be used for many more things other than Valentine's Day. You really should check them out if you haven't already.

Anyway, I don't have too much detail to offer on this card. Tilda was colored with Copics and the dp's are from MME. The flowers are mostly from WOC. I think the gems are remnants from a Prima pack that I had laying around. The rest is from my stash.

Magnolia-licious DT Blog Hop

Hello Everyone! And welcome to another Magnolia-licious DT Blog Hop!!! I hope you're enjoying the show so far. The DT has done a fantastic job with this Valentine's Day theme. So, as I mentioned, this month's theme is Valentine's Day. This gave me the perfect opportunity to use an image from the new 'Sweet Crazy Love Collection'. You can get some fantastic prices on this collection at Magnolia-licious right now and there is still plenty of time to get them and make some wonderful things for Valentine's Day. They even have the Mini version of the Sweet Crazy Love Collection. They're so much fun to combine in scenes with the larger images.

Here's my project...

I {heart} You

This little sweetheart is 'Tilda with Cozy Heart'. I found the wooden planter at the local craft store. I wanted to make a coordinating card to go along with it. It makes the perfect little Valentine's Day gift set for a loved one. On the card I have Tilda sitting atop the 'I Love You' accessory stamp. This stamp is so versatile...you could use it for nearly any occasion and can put any sitting Tilda on the top.

The planter already had the bow and wooden hearts on it. All I needed to do was color up an image and secure it onto the front. I added a little greenery too.

The dp's were in a pile of 12x12 papers that I've had forever. They matched the colors in the planter perfectly. I cut the image, the matte, and the heart behind it with SB nesties. I then stamped the heart with a sentiment from my stash. The beautiful large pearl brads are from WOC. I bought several sets in multiple colors and sizes. The string and lace are from RRR. I colored all of the images with Copic markers, but I've been in such a hurry with CHA aproaching that I haven't had the time to keep the details of the colors. I'll do better once I get back from CHA.

Really Reasonable Ribbon Guest Designer
and
Little Darlings Challenges

Hi Everyone! Today I am the Guest Designer for Really Reasonable Ribbon! How exciting is that!!! I was really excited when Bonnie emailed me and asked if I'd join in. It was a 'yes' without hesitatation. They have beautiful ribbons and I've been a customer for a couple of years now.

Additionally, we've got a new challenge happening over at Little Darlings Challenges! The theme is: Favorite Color. Now, I know you're used to me using really rich, dark colors. And I always comment about how I love the combo of red/brown. But, lately I've found myself using pinks and blues more often. In fact, my hubby brought it to my attention! So that's what I decided to work with for this challenge. Be sure to read all of the info on the Little Darlings Challenges post because we have a new set prizes that are being offered in 2012 so you'll have a greater chance of winning something with each challenge.

I made two projects and couldn't wait to show them to you. Here they are!

Just A Little Note

I really love altering these notebooks from the $1 bin! They're simple to do and you get a lot of bang for the buck! This one was already covered with a beautiful pink and blue floral pattern, which I've determined to be my favorite color combo at the moment. I chose to work with 'An Apple A Day' from Little Darlings. I colored her with Copic markers. I decided that she would be holding a little green apple because it coordinated better with the paper. Plus, how often do you see people coloring an apple green? I trimmed the spirals out with a bunch of ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbon. They're all from the December Ribbon Club pack. They currently have a beautiful red/white pack available for Valentine's Day. I love these packs because you get a whole bunch of different ribbons at a very reasonable price. And, they always coordinate with a season or holiday. It's a great way to build your ribbon collection so that you've always got something on hand to use when needed.

The image and it's matte were cut using SB dies. I highlighted the scallops of the matte with some gems from my stash. The sentiment alongside the image is by A Muse Artstamps. I think it's perfect since this is a little notebook :-) The flowers and corner piece are from WOC.

Here's my 2nd project...

Snowy Friends

I've been wanting to color this little 'Snowy Friends' image for a long time now. It's from the Little Darlings - Winter 2011 Release. I colored the image with Copic markers. You can again see the pink and blue combo here :-) The beautiful bow is the Light Blue Organza ribbon in 1/4 inch from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I love how it looks run through the silver buckle. The dp's are from BoBunny 2010.

The image and matte were cut using SB dies. The buckle and corner piece are from WOC. I got the beautiful silver snowflake from Michaels. It's actually an ornament. The gems are from my stash.

Tilda in Winter...

Happy New Year!!! Can you believe it's 2012! OMGosh how time flies!!! I sure hope you all had a fantastic holiday season with family and friends. I sure did! It does feel good to have it all over with though. I get so worn out and need time to recover. That's when I get to head to my studio to play :-) On the day after Christmas, hubby took our son to a movie and I got to head up to my studio to paint. Now that's heaven..ahhhhhhhhh.

Winter is just gettin' goin' here in Michigan so you'll be seeing some snowy winter cards from me yet. I may even get a Christmas card or two in there since I didn't get to play too much with my Christmas stamps last month. The awesome Cheryl suggested that we do an 'Anything Goes' theme this month so we could just let our creative juices flow into whatever we wanted to do. Thanks Cheryl!!! I love it when we get to just do what feels right! You can see all of the DT creations at Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenges. You also join in on the fun there and win a great prize from Magnolia-licious.

So I sat down at my craft desk and pulled out my DT kit of 'Sweet Christmas Dreams' minis. I've been dying to ink them up and just didn't have the time til now. Anyway, once I decided on the images, I flipped through my Christmas paper pads for dp's with rich colors that I could use for a 'cold winter's night'.

Here's how things turned out...

Tilda in Winter

I decided to mask both 'Mini Winter Tilda' and 'Mini Midwinter Tilda' together while out for a walk on a cold, snowy night. They are dressed in color coordinated outfits in rich greens and reds. I don't see 'Mini Winter Tilda' in stock right now, but 'Mini Midwinter Tilda' is currently available at Magnolia-licious in a specially priced 2-pack with 'Mini Jingle Tilda'. The snowflakes were stamped using a wooden block stamp from my stash. I stamped them in black and then traced them with a glittery gel pen. They look really pretty IRL.

The images and the matte were cut using SB dies. The sweet little tree was cut using a Magnolia 'Spruce Tree' DooHickey die. It's probably one of my favorite dies that's come out in a long time.

The dp's are from MME's 'Holly Jolly' 6x6 paper pad. They're rich and dark and I think they look great for a 'cold winter's night'. I wrapped them in a sheer silver ribbon and bow from my stash. The center of the bow is decorated with the top of a green pearl brad from WOC. The ornamental straps at the top of the card were cut using a SB tag die. I cut the tag in half and added red gems for a bit of bling. I added the same red gems to decorate the tree. I colored the images using a combo of Copic markers and watercolor with Ranger DI's. I added a lot of shadow to the faces to accentuate the glow of the lamp. I hope that's what it looks like! Lastly, the I made snow with a little bottle of pearl paint.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

I just returned today, with my family, from Disney World. We took our son to celebrate his 8th birthday. What a magical place :-) It was so wonderful to see it all decked out for the holidays and all of the characters dressed for Christmas. To top it off, the temps were in the 80's and it was gorgeous! I won't be surprised if we make it an annual thing.

I want to take a moment to thank each of you for your kind words and support this year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.

To all of my DT teamies, you are all so very talented and it has been an honor to share the stage with you all this year. Merry Christmas and Happy New to you and your families as well.

My hubby and I are hosting our annual Christmas Eve Dinner at our house tomorrrow. We will be joined by both family and friends to celebrate. It promises to be a joyous occasion. It always makes me reflect on the past year, remembering all that we bring to each other's lives. I am so very grateful for everyone in my life and for all that I have been blessed with.

Hi Everyone! Well, Christmas is less than 2 weeks away and I still can't believe it. Doesn't it seem as though the days between Halloween and Christmas go by in a flash? It's the same with the days between the last and first days of school. Then there's winter...Here in Michigan the months of January thru March seem to last forever. It's so cold and snowy and feels like the temps are below zero every day. I guess that why we appreciate Spring so much!

Anyhoo, I finally made it into my studio for a short bit this afternoon. I've been working on year-end financials for our business, along with the usual month-end stuff. That along with the holidays and birthdays has left me with no time to craft. I managed to color a Christmas image in bits and pieces here and there. I finally finished it with a simple background last night while my son was in the bath tub.

I know a lot of you are done with Christmas cards, but I feel like I've only just begun. Probably cause I have 'only just begun'! I will probably continue with Christmas and Winter cards through January and February because it'll be so cold and snowy here. I'll be working in some Valentine projects as well.

Well, enough chit chat...here's my card :-) I hope you like it!

This little sweetheart is #3092 Tucked Tilda from Magnolia's 'Sweet Christmas Dreams Collection'. She's currently available at Magnolia-licious, along with the rest of the gorgeous collection. I tell ya, I think Christmas and Winter stamps are my absolute favorite! And this collection is tops. Oh Christmas Tree...

Hi Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend :-) Ours was absolutely JAM PACKED WITH FUN!!! For starters, I hosted my monthly card class on Saturday morning. I'm hooked on mohito's since visiting Puerto Rico, so I served them around 11 a.m. It was almost noon! So that's ok...right! LOL!!! Afterwards, I had to make two pots of chili for a Christmas 'kick off' party that a friend of mine hosted Saturday night. What fun we had!!! And yes, I brought mohito's to the party too! Our son spent the night at a friend's house so we were free to relax and enjoy ourselves. On Sunday, hubby had a cyclocross race about 2 hours from our house and then planned on hanging out with the team afterwards. I met my son and our friends that he stayed with for a late lunch, a Christmas parade, and a visit with Santa. We all had a wonderful time :-) But, it did feel good to get home and get into my jammies!

Today I want to show you the card that I made for my card class on Saturday. I used a LOTV image, Bo Bunny papers, Prima flowers, WOC flowers, and some other stuff. The image is colored with Copic markers. It's actually a gate fold card and the entire front flap with the bow opens to reveal the the bifold gates.

La La Land Crafts

Inspirational Friday

It's Friday Everone! That means it's time for more 'Inspiration' at La La Land Crafts. We've got a really fun theme this week...'Black and White'. I just loved working on this project! I got a chance to demonstrate the differences between the Copic grey sets: N=Neutral; W=Warm; C=Cool, T=Tone

If you don't know the difference, here's a breakdown:

N's, or 'Neutral' greys are the most genuine and versatile. They can be used just about anywhere. They're great for coloring things like tuxedos, tires, shoes, boots, etc., anything that you want to look truly black. They are also great for adding shadows over just about any color. They are the perfect choice for coloring black hair.

W's, or 'Warm' greys have brown undertones. They are best used when working with earthtones and other warm color families, like reds, oranges and yellows. They're also beautiful when creating a more old fashioned look to something like a tuxedo. I like to use them to lightly shadow around some of the edges of images to bring them together with the background.

C's, or 'Cool' greys have blue undertones. They are best used when working with cool color families, like blues, purples, and some greens. They're gorgeous on things like snow, snowmen, penguins, etc. They are also great for adding shadows to clouds.

T's, or 'Tones' are somewhere between N's and W's. They have a little bit of a brown undertone, but not as much as the W's. The difference between N's and T's is similar to the difference between the Black 100 and Special Black 110 Copic markers. I actually do not own any of the T's. I haven't had the need for them yet. Maybe someday!

Snowboarding Marci

When I first read what the theme was, I thought "How can I make something Wintery with black and white?" I started looking through the images and found 'Snowboarding Marci' and it all just clicked! I paired her with part of the Little Village Scene Digi from MIC. I just love how they look together. The dp is from my stash of 12x12 sheets. The black cs is Bazzill. I cut them both with dies from Go Kreate using my SB Grand Calibur. The final project measures rougly 8x8 inches. The big snowflakes are ornaments from the local craft store. The sweet black polka dotted ribbon is from RRR. I grabbed the doily and clear snowflakes from my stash.

Here's a closeup so you can see the coloring better. I used W's on Marci's face and added a little R20 and R30 to her cheeks and the heart. I also used W's on the houses. Marci's clothes, the trees, and the rooftop snow were colored with C's. Her hair and snowboard were colored with N's. The winter sky was colored with a combination of C's and N's. All of the snow on the hill got a coating of glitter and it sparkles like crazy IRL!

Well, I finally got a moment to get some more photos to you from my trip to Puerto Rico.

Ocean - rain was moving in. I could handle rain with that view every day!

Little Darlings Challenge

The challenge this week is to make a project with a 'Thank You' theme. You can get all of the details of the challenge at Little Darlings Challenges. Since I'm in the midst of making Christmas/Holiday and Winter items, I decided to make a holiday gift tag that can accompany any 'Thank You' gift around the holidays. Here it is...

A Note of Thanks

I decided to use this little cutie, 'All For Me', by Little Darlings. I think he looks like he could be bringing a bunch of gifts to someone too. I paired him with dp's by Bo Bunny. Cs is both SU and Bazzill. The card shape was achieved using a SB Grand Nestie die. The image was also cut using a SB Nestie and rubbed with a bit of Ranger DI in 'walnut stain' for age. Check out those wooden snowflakes by KaiserCraft! I JUST LOVE THEM!!! They can be used in so many ways on your paper crafts and Love To Stamp has them right now. The sentiment is from Whimsy and is from a set called Thank You Squared...also available at Love To Stamp. The green ribbon is from SU. The lace and twine are from RRR. As a last little touch, I added the gold bell and now the tag makes a sweet little jingle sound when moved :-)

The image was colored using a combo of Copic markers and watercolor with Ranger DI's. Here are the details...

Here's my project...

Christmas Jewelry Box

I must admit, having to create something other than a card always gives me a bit of trouble. Also, because of my trip to Puerto Rico and some misaligned rib heads along my spine, I only had a couple of days to work on this project. I started on Friday by picking my papers from Magnolia's 'Sweet Christmas Dreams Paper Pack', which just happened to arrive while I was in PR. This paper is soooooooooooo pretty and I was able to divide the patterns into several different combos. Next, I rummaged through some drawers where I keep items that I may alter one day, and I found this adorable little wooden box. The top is hinged in the back and has a magnetic closer in the front.

I used 4 different mini Magnolia stamps to make up this cute little Christmas scene: 'Mini Wrapped Tilda' and 'Mini Unwrapped Tilda', Mini Candy Cane, and Mini Christmas Tree. The scene was cut using SB Nesties. The blue backing was cut using a SB Shapeability Snowflake die. I put a heart doily behind them both to set them apart from the poinsettia dp.

The poinsettia's, I believe, are from Prima. I put them together with some berries in the middle from WOC. The white flowery bunches are from Magnolia. The beautiful red check ribbon is from my stash. The little candy canes are from Michaels. I was diggin' through one of my embellie drawers and found a part of a bracelet of pearls and clear beads that I had taken apart for another project. I added another pearl bunch to the top of it and secured it to the box top with some very strong magnets (believe it or not!)

I think the metal piece surrounding the sentiment is from Tim Holtz. The sentiment is from my collection but is no longer marked with the manufacturer's name. The ribbons and lace are from my stash as well.

I'm sorry about all of the photos, but I really like this project and wanted to capture it from all angles.

Here is a closeup of the scene. All images are colored with Copics. I was in a hurry so I don't have a list of colors. The background is colored in beige, but it doesn't show up in the photos. I had originally intended on painting this scene with DI's, but I didn't have any wax paper left after PR. I guess I need to go to the store tomorrow!

Puerto Rico!!!

Hi Everyone! Well, I'm back from Puerto Rico and I really miss being there. I had the best time! Yamille held the classes at her scrapbook store - Memory Box, in San Juan. I can't possibly explain the energy that she exudes! Yamille is super sweet, full of life, and was the most perfect hostess. We very quickly became like sisters and had an awesome time together. Thank you Yamille for inviting me to teach at your Event and for being so wonderful!!!

I've got a bunch of photos to show you. Today, I've got photos from the Copic and DI classes.

Here's a portion of the room where the classes were held. I took this photo when we first arrived before anyone was in the room. Yamille had a card/project kit and gift box for everyone.

This room is up the stairs from the store. Here you can see Yamille and I looking out through the curtain at all of the ladies in the store that came to my classes. You can see a bit of the store through the glass window between the two rooms. There is actually a third room that you do not see in this photo that Yamille uses for parties and gatherings. That is the room where our homemade fabulous lunches were served. On Friday, Yamille's hubby, Juan Carlos, made two AWESOME lasagnas that would rival any authentic Italian dish. There were also some yummy plantains that I just can't get off my mind. On Saturday, we had another lunch with some Puerto Rican favorites. I still can't believe the amount of food that I ate on this trip! There wasn't anything that we ate that I didn't completely and absolutely love.

As I stated earlier, Yamille has a tremendous amount of energy about her. She gave away prizes and got people dancing.

Mindy and I spent the better part of Sunday touring Old San Juan. I'll have those photos for you soon. The city is absolutely STUNNING!!! On Monday, Yamille took us to the San Juan Mall for a little shopping. Many of the stores were the same as we have here in Michigan. But, Yamille saved the best store for last and took us to her favorite local boutique...Bliss. And it was :-) I spent a lot of money there!!!

I hope to be heading back to PR to teach more classes in the future. I really had a wonderful time.

Hi Everyone! I'm still having fun diving into Christmas cards. This one I made back in August actually. It was for an advertisement. Because it was for an ad, I didn't write down all of the details. But, I really love the card and wanted to show it to you here. I'll do my best to recall the products used.

The stamps are all by Magnolia and can be found at Magnolia-licious. Here are the details:

Mini Tilda in Winter Light - this link is for the larger sized image. The mini is probably on re-order.

Mini Santa's Bench

Mini trees - I don't know the name of the trees off-hand and I don't see them in the store right now. I have the name listed upstairs in my studio, but my body is awfully sore right now from a yoga class and climbing the stairs seems like attempting Mt. Everest! I'll update this post with the info later.

Northpole sentiment - also by Magnolia but it's from a much earlier collection and I don't see it in the store.

The tag was cut using a Magnolia 'Scalloped Tag' DooHickey Tag die. Magnolia-licious has a HUGE assortment of DooHickey dies available all of the time. There's no better place to shop for your Magnolia products!!! The poinsettia is from my stash, but the rest of the flowers are from Magnolia...either directly from my visit to the shop in Boras, Sweden...or from my DT kits. Thank you Magnolia!!! The ribbons are from my stash.

These gorgeous dp's are from Magnolia's Christmas 2010 collection and they are my absolute FAVORITE papers that they have EVER come out with! The white heart doily is from my stash. The blue doily was cut using a Die-Namics die. The card shape was cut using a Go Kreate die, and then I folded it in half. Cs is by Bazzill, of course. Nearly everything on this card was rubbed with a bit of Ranger DI in 'Walnut Stain' to give it a bit of age.

Magnolia-licious DT Challenge!!!

Happy November Everyone!!! My GOSH we're close to Christmas already! After 43 years I'm still amazed at how fast time really does fly! You know, you hear that all the time when you're a kid, but it doesn't mean a thing until you're old enough to realize that you're not young anymore. I keep asking my son to stop growing up so fast. He says he's trying not to, but he just can't help it! He'll be eight next month and his skin is still as soft as it was when he was a baby. It just makes my heart ache to remember him that tiny. WELL....sorry about that. My fingertips seem to have taken an unexpected turn down memory lane on my keyboard. But, as always, the thought of Christmas always makes me reflect on my life and my family and friends. I think that's why I enjoy making Christmas cards so much. They always make me feel warm and happy inside.

I hosted this months challenge. I was browsing the internet one day and for some reason ended up looking at Christmas and Winter photos. I thought it would be fun to do a challenge with a photo inspiration. Since I love both the warm rich reds, greens and browns of Christmas AND the cool, icy blues of Winter, I selected two photos and you can choose whichever one inspires you the most.

I'm having sooooooo much fun with my new stamps from the Magnolia 'Sweet Christmas Dreams' collection. All of the images are adorable, but I do have my faves! The one I chose to use today is one of them. I'm sure you all have you favorites and Magnolia-licious has them all in stock right now waiting for you to get yours.

Something For You

This gorgeous girl is #3055 Something For You Tilda. I love how precious she looks with that gift hidden behind her back. I've paired her with #614 Welcome To A Sweet Christmas. She looks like she's showing up for a Christmas party! I initially chose the Winter photo as my inspiration, but with the addition of the red and green, it looks a little like the Christmas photo too. I guess I ended up combining them!

I colored both images with Copic markers. I used a ton of colors over several days so I wasn't really able to keep track. It's a lot easier to keep track when I'm able to sit down for a longer amount of time to color the entire picture in one sitting. But right now I have a TON of stuff going on so I have to keep popping in and out of my studio. ANYWAY, the idea was that the house would be blue with a white door and white trim. But, now that it's done, the house almost looks like it could be the night sky with an open door floating around in the middle of it! In retrospect, I probably should have made the house a different color :-( Live and learn I guess!

The dp's are from a collection of BoBunny from last year. The blues are gorgeous and they have this really pretty plum color running through here and there. I pulled that color out for Tilda's outfit. I went a little dark on the hat by mistake, but there really isn't much you can do to fix the really dark colors once you've layed them down.

This photo is just me trying to be a bit 'artsy'. I was hoping to show you some of the dimension of the card. They always look so flat in straight on photos. All of the embellies are from my 2010 Christmas stash. I purchased most of them from Michael's.

Waiting For Santa...

Hey Everybody! Well, another week is coming to an end. And that puts me so much closer to my trip to Puerto Rico! Yikes!!! I still have sooooooo much to do! I've been planning and coloring and trying to get through my list of things to do. I know it'll all come together in the end :-) I needed a little break from it and headed straight to my new Magnolia 'Sweet Christmas Dreams' stamps. I couldn't wait to make another Christmas card with my new Maggie images.

Waiting For Santa

This image is #3058 Sweet Christmas Tilda and she's available right now at Magnolia-licious. Diana already has the entire 'Sweet Christmas Dreams' collection in stock and they're ready to ship yours to you today! I paired her with a mantel from Magnolia, but I have no idea what the name of the stamp is. I used a new DooHickey die called 'Swirly Lace' that arrived in my Magnolia DT kit. It's absolutely gorgeous so you'll be seeing it a lot in the future. Magnolia has a bunch of new DooHickey dies for the holiday season and they're all available at Magnolia-licious.

The dp's are new from BoBunny. The trees were cut using a die from Tim Holtz. The flowers and snowflake are from my stash. I colored the images using a combo of Copic markers and watercolor with DI's. I was pressed for time and didn't track the colors used...sorry! I topped everything off with some crackle paint and a little stickles on the fur on the stockings.

Little Darlings Challenges

Happy Wednesday Everyone!!! Today we've got another Little Darlings Challenge and it's 'not a square'. That means you can make anything you want, as long as it's 'not a square'! There are prizes to win and fun to be had. All you have to do is join in on the challenge over at the Little Darlings Challenge Blog. Be sure to head over there and check out the rest of the inspiration from the Design Team.

I've got a quick and simple card to show you. I used 'Pumpkin Races' from the Little Darlings Autumn Collection. He is sooooooo much fun to color! He's perfect for any occasion in Autumn too.

I colored this image entirely with Copic markers. It was so much fun to work with the really rich oranges and browns. They blended beautifully. There is a little blue in the polka dotted pattern so I pulled this color out and used it for his helmet. It really makes the image pop off the card! The dark brown card shape and mattes were cut using a SB Grand Nestie set. Flowers are from WOC. The felt flower was sent to me by my awesome friend Mindy...thanks Mindy!!! The leaves were all cut using a variety of MS punches. Both the gems and cheesecloth are from my stash.

Just Hangin' Round and Waiting for Christmas!

Happy Wednesday Everyone!!! I've got a quick little project to show you today. I had some spur of the moment time in my studio and my eyes fell upon my new Magnolia Fall Kit with their new Christmas stamps. Time was short, so I grabbed this little image called 'Holding Tilda' and the larger of the 'Sweet Snowflakes' to make a quick and easy Christmas ornament. The entire Sweet Christmas Dreams 2001 collection is available at Magnolia-licious, where you'll find the fastest shipping, the largest Magnolia selection in North America, and the best customer service around.

Just Hangin' Round and Waiting for Christmas!

The images were colored very quickly with Copic markers. It was cut and embossed with a basic SB circle die. When I did the embossing, I used my new favorite 'No Shims' embossing mat. Every time I use this mat, I'm amazed at how deep the embossing actually is. You can't really see it in the photo, but in real life you can see just how deep it is. I also used it on the the silver snowflake that I cut with another SB die. Because of the shine of the silver cardstock, you can actually see the embossing in the photo. I think it looks really great. The accordian pleated rosette was cut with a Tim Holtz die and I used a dp from Magnolia. It's actually one of my favorite papers from Magnolia and it's my very last sheet of it :-( I'm really going to have to be careful so I can make the rest of it last through the season.

I paired the images with dp's from BoBunny's 'Vicki B' collection, available now at Love To Stamp. I just LOVE this paper pad and I've just about used all of papers from the pack. It's just so versatile! It can be used for Spring, Summer, Fall, Valentine's, etc. All cs is by Bazzill. The flowers are from WOC, with the exception of the crocheted flower in the middle of the MS ribbon. I found that one in one of my embellishment drawers.

The sentiment on the front of the card is by Hero Arts. It was cut and matted using some SU! punches. #000 Doctor Edwin was colored with Copic markers. The house was painted with watercolor and DI's.

On the inside we have #307 Nurse Tilda. Looks like 'Doctor Edwin' instructed 'Nurse Tilda' to give the patient a shot! Yikes!

She is also colored very simply with Copic markers. This sentiment is from SU!

La La Land Crafts

Inspiration Friday

Happy Friday Everyone! It's time for another Inspiration Friday over at La La Land Crafts! The theme this week is 'Halloween'!!! So I dug into my LLLC drawer and found Sir Luka just waiting to be inked up. How cute is he?

I've combined Sir Luka with dp's from Pink Paislee's 'Hocus Pocus' collection. I just love these papers!!! There was one little problem though...the striped paper didn't have ANY orange in it like it shows on the cover of the paper pad. Sooooooo, I colored the white stripes with Copic marker YR65 so I could combine it with the orange dp that I wanted to use. I love how it turned out!

I dug into my scrapbook stuff from waaaaaay back to find the Halloween tree and the rub on fence. The background and it's matte were cut using a die from Go Kreate. The cheesecloth in the background was dyed with my Ranger DI in black soot. I rubbed it onto the cheesecloth and then spritzed it with water and rubbed it between my hands so it would soak in more evenly. If you do this, be very careful not to touch anything before washing your ink covered hands!

I colored the image with Copic markers. Here are the details...

Hello Fall

I've been waiting for the perfect opportunity to use this image. It's called 'Throwing Leaves' and it's just so full of fun and excitement!!! Just look at how much fun she's having! I can remember raking the leaves in our front yard when I was a kid and then jumping in them and messing them all up again. I don't think I've raked leaves since!

I colored the image with Copic markers, but didn't keep track of the details. Sorry! I've had the dp's forever and have no idea who the manufacturer is since I already cut off the edge with the name on it. But, they're old so you can't buy them anymore anyway! The silk ribbon is from RRR and it matches the dp's perfectly. I cut the image and matte with SB nesties. The sentiment was actually cut from the dp's. Tucked away behind the image is a tag cut with Magnolia's 'Scalloped Tag' DooHickey Die. The leaves were cut using another Magnolia die. I think it's called 'Heart Leaf', but I'm not totally sure. That really large leaf was sent to me by Magnolia and it was originally silver. I never really had the right place to use it til now. I colored it orange and red with Copic markers.

I filled the box with some Halloween cookies :-)

La La Land Crafts DT

Inspiration Friday

It's Friday Everyone! That means it's time for another Inspiration Friday at La La Land Crafts!!! This week's theme is 'Dots and Spots'. Honestly, I had my dp's picked out and the image colored by the time that I read what the theme was. When I suddenly remembered to the check the theme, I had moment of panic! Yikes! What if my dp's didn't fit with the theme? I frantically flipped through the paper pad and THANK GOODNESS there was a dotted pattern that was PERFECT!!!

Hunny Bunny Marci

When I saw this little sweetie in the new La La Land release, I just knew that I had to color her first. Her name is 'Hunny Bunny Marci' and she is just adorable! I paired her with dp's from one of my favorite old BG collections titled 'Bittersweet'. I really hated breaking into that pad! But what good is it if you don't use it? The silk ribbon, lace, button and pearls are all from my stash. The corner piece is from WOC.

I colored the image using a combo of Copic markers and watercolor with Ranger distress inks. Here are the details...

Falling For You

This little sweetheart is Magnolia's 'Apple Tilda'. I've had her for quite some time but never got around to inking her up. I don't see the larger size in the Magnolia-licious store right now, but you can get the Mini Apple Tilda right HERE. Magnolia-licious has the best selection of Magnolia products, including the Minis which are a ton of fun to work with. Anyway, I paired 'Apple Tilda' with 'Fall Background', which is one of my favorite background stamps. It is also sold out right now, but you can email Magnolia-licious to see when it'll be back in stock.

The dp's are from KaiserCraft. The rich, warm colors are soooooooooo perfect for Fall. The flowers are rafia are from WOC. All of the lace is from my stash. I colored the images with a combo of Copic markers and watercolor with DI's. I was pressed for time and didn't keep track of all of the colors. Sorry!

Little Darlings Challenges

Happy Wednesday Everyone!!! It is time for another Little Darlings Challenge and we've got a super fun theme for you this time...Fall or Halloween!!! Today is also the release of the new Little Darlings 'Halloween and Autumn' collection of stamps. We've been showing the sneak peeks for a week and the DT did a FANTASTIC job. Here's my project...

Tricks or Treats?

This awesome image is 'Tricks or Treats' and she was soooooo much fun to color!!! She is my favorite image in this collection and a must have for your Halloween stamp collection. I paired her with dp's from a BoBunny collection from last year.

I took the idea of this easel card box from someone else...but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to say who just yet. I didn't have a template so I had to wing it. The easel card measures 6" x 6". The box measures 5.5" x 5.5".

The black and purple flowers on the card are from both Magnolia and WOC. The purple/green flowers on the card and front of the box were handmade using some flower punches. The black ribbon is from American Crafts.

This is the inside of the box. You can fill it with trinkets, craft supplies, Halloween candy, etc.

Here is a closeup of the card front and the image. I colored the image with Copic markers. It really was a lot of fun to color...especially that big ol' hat. Love it!

La La Land Crafts

Welcome Everyone! It's finally FRIDAY!!! That means it's time for a little inspiration from the La La Land Crafts DT. This week we're showing you different ways to use 'embossing' on your cards/projects.

In all honesty, I don't do a whole lot of embossing. I have a bunch of embossing folders, SB dies that I could emboss with, and embossing powders (although I have no idea what I did with my heat gun!!!). And still...I NEVER think about embossing! Don't we all have things laying around our craft space that we just never get around to using? Or even think about using? I think we get into habits in our lives and in our crafting and we tend to do the same things over and over again. So, I'm really happy that this challenge came along because it forced me to dig out my embossing folders.

Here's my card...

Hocus Pocus

This little sweetie is Magician Luka from La La Land Crafts. He arrived in my DT package and I just had to ink him up. I was in the mood to make a Halloween card for a boy and he is just perfect! I just love him all dressed up in his magician's costume!!! My son has a magic set and every so often he likes to show us a magic trick before going to bed. If he had a costume he'd be in absolute heaven!!!

The dp's and the sentiment are from Pink Paislee's 'Hocus Pocus' collection. They were also in my DT package and I LOVE THEM!!! Purple is one of my favorite Halloween colors. You'll have to look closely at the orange layer to see my embossing. I rubbed over it with Ranger black soot to show off the embossed pattern. Since it's a 'boy' card, I wanted to keep the embellies to a minimum. The corner pieces are from WOC and they started out silver...I colored them with a black Copic marker. The gems and black web ribbon are from my stash.

Magnolia-licious DT Blog Hop

Magnolia Mini World Binder

Happy Monday Everyone! Today we have a FANTABULOUS show for you! Have you seen the new Magnolia Mini World Binders from Magnolia-licious? They are sooooooooo awesome!!! My mini's have been accumulating in one of my shallow craft drawers and it was getting to be very difficult to see what I had and to find what I wanted to use. I couldn't wait to get my binder after Diana told me about it! Now that I have it and it is all organized, it was well worth the wait :-)

So, since all of the Magnolia-licious DT girls have their binders (and we all love them), it was decided that we would show you what all you can do with them. They aren't JUST for organizing ya know!!! Why not make a craft project out it? That's just what we did!

The challenge was to cover the Magnolia Mini World Binder using whatever materials we wanted, but 90% of the stamps had to be by Magnolia. The DT has done a GORGEOUS job with this challenge!

Mini Tilda's in a Giant Garden

I decided to, once again, go way back to my scrapbooking roots for this project. I treated the front cover as if it were a scrapbook page. The dp's are from BG's 'Urban Prairie' collection. I've had these 12x12 papers for...like...EVER! I don't often use 12x12 papers anymore. These colors are soooooooo perfect for my style. Since this project is for me and I'll be keeping it in my studio and referring to it often, I wanted to use papers that I absolutely LOVE to look at. I think it's very important to surround yourself with things you love...even in your craftroom! Well.....ESPECIALLY in your craft room! How can you be creative if you're not inspired? How can you be inspired if you're not surrounded by beautiful things?

I covered the side of the binder in a coordinating pattern. The back, which I didn't photograph, has the same pattern paper as the front cover. They were all mounted on black Bazzill cs and all edges were distressed. I ran the front and back dp's through the sewing machine and added a little stitching around the border, but it doesn't show too well on camera. In this pic you can see some of the dimension on the cover.

In this pic you can see another view of the dimension on the cover. You can also see a sneak peek of the inserts with all of the labels and stamps organized inside.

Here's a better view of the first page of stamps and labels. I have a lot of mini stamps and this part seemed like a daunting task at first. I brought all of the materials from my studio to the kitchen nook and worked there for only a few hours. This way I wasn't too far from my son while he was working with his new Lego Master Builder Academy (he's a huge Lego fan). Once he's completed the academy, we'll be able to tell people that our 7 year old has his MBA! Haha! Anyway, I had sort of an assembly line going with the stamps and labels and the time flew by very quickly. Now its done and I'll only need to add some here and there when the new releases come out.

I tried to reduce the overall frame of vision by drawing the eye into the center with this frame that was cut with my Go Kreate 'XXL Square Frames - Frilly #2' dies. I was very careful when placing the dies on the dp because I wanted to capture a very specific area for the scene that I wanted to create. I had it stuck in my head that I wanted to use a variety of mini Tilda's and position them so that they looked as if they were living in a giant garden. I hope it looks like that to you too! HaHa!

That gorgeous, actually bright pink, 3-D flower ribbon is from Webster's Pages 'Bloomer Deluxe Card' and it's available at Love To Stamp. I LOVE these 3-D ribbons! They add so much dimension to projects. On this project, it created the foundation of the garden and gave the images a place to sit/stand. I added a bunch of flowers from WOC, Petaloo, Kort & Godt, and KaiserCraft in 'Fairy Floss' and 'Sage'. These paper blooms from KaiserCraft have turned out to be my new favorite flowers. On a single card you get a variety of flower types in a close variation of the same color. Because you get different flower types in a single package, you don't have to buy bunches and bunches of flowers to get a beautiful grouping. They're extremely versatile and add a ton of texture to your projects.

On the left side of the scene, I added some pink chandelier glass by Magnolia. The buttons, heart doily, and pearls are from my stash. There are several Magnolia DooHickey Dies that were used throughout too: Leaf & Swirl Die; Tilda Lace; Swirl Butterfly, and Doily Flower. You can find the largest selection of DooHickey dies at Magnolia-licious. Their customer service is fantastic and shipping is immediate.

This little cutie is #3012 Mini Tilda with Stuffed Animal. She is currently available at Magnolia-licious.

Inspiration Friday

Hello Everybody! Wow! This week has BLOWN by! There were hurdles every step of the way, but I got through them all. I'm still having a bit of trouble in the pain department, but hopefully that will just disappear as abruptly as it started. The doctor says everything is ok...so it must be...right? Man do I hate getting old! How is it I can wake up feeling worse than I did when I went to bed? And I have a Sleep Number bed, which really is the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! This 'getting old' thing is really not for me. I may have to go on a never ending search for that ol' fountain of youth. Where to start?...where to start?

Anyway...........I've got another card for you for LLLC's Inspiration Friday!!! This week we were asked to 'use a doily'. Huh! I can do that!!! But I challenged myself to do something differently this time. Here it is...........

Marci with Snowman

This little cutie is Marci with Snowman and she's available right now at La La Land Crafts. I just love this image! I paired her with some gorgeous new dp's from BG's 'Nordic' collection. Cs is by Bazzill. The doily was cut using a Dia-Namics die and a coordinating dp. I cut it into 2 pieces so that I wouldn't be wasteful :-) Heck, you only get a couple of each pattern in the 6x6 paper pads and I wasn't going to use more than I had to!

The beautiful red snowflake ribbon is from RRR. It was a part of a 'ribbon club' package that I had gotten. I love how it POPS on this card! I think I bought that ribbon buckle at WOC. I know I bought the silver corner piece there. The little joy charm, it's holder and the glittery snowflake are from my stash (which basically means that there is nothing left to indicate where I got them).

This sweet little boy image is from the Little Darlings Christmas Collection and it's called 'All For Me!' He is currently available for purchase at Love To Stamp, so head on over and get yours! There are four Little Darlings Christmas stamps and they are all ADORABLE!!!

I colored the image with Copic markers, but didn't keep track of the colors...Sorry! The dp's are from the BG 'Wassail' 6x6 paper pad. I think it's from a couple of years ago, but it's still one of my faves. I love rich browns, reds and greens and this paper pad is filled with them. I didn't use any cs on this tag...only the dp's. The image and it's scalloped background were cut using SB nestie dies. The heart swirls were cut using my favorite Magnolia DooHickey die 'Heart Swirl'. I think I've been using this die on every project that I've made recently! You can get this die, and many other DooHickey dies, at Magnolia-licious...the best place to get all of your Magnolia products!

The gorgeous gentle lace that is tucked behind the image was found in one of my ribbon drawers. It was just a bit of scrap that was left over from another project. The ribbon is actually a gorgeous blood red velvet, although it doesn't show too well in the photo. The flowers are from both WOC and Love To Stamp - Cranberry Paper Blooms from KaiserCraft. I just LOVE these flower packs! In each pack, you get a variety of flowers in different sizes and slightly different shades of the same color. They're absolutely wonderful to combine with each other or with flowers from other manufacturers. Lastly, the sentiment tag is from a SU kit that I've have forever. I attached it with a bit of string tied around the velvet ribbon.

Mini Tilda with Pony Tail

The star of this project is the sweet little #3021 Mini Tilda with Pony Tail and she's sitting in front of #509 Mini Bird Background. Both images are currently available at Magnolia-licious in both mini and regular size. I think they're both fairly popular images so you may want to head on over there right away to reserve yours. Their customer service is fantastic so you may even have yours by the end of the week!

The image and its scalloped background were both cut using SB nesties. The dp's are from the BG 'Sweet Threads' collection. You can get the 'Sweet Threads' 6x6 paper pads at Love To Stamp for only $4.50/each right now! The swirl was cut using my favorite Magnolia DooHickey Die - Heart Swirl, also available at Magnolia-licious. I cut it into a couple of pieces and then attached them where I thought they looked best. The ric-rac is from American Crafts and the cheesecloth is from my stash. The bottom of the bookmark was cut using a MS punch. I added a ton of star dust Stickles for some sparkle.

Inspiration Friday

Hi Everyone! I'm a little late in the day with my post. Sorry! This week at La La Land, we're making 'Anything but a card'. That's not an easy task for me either. I really enjoy making cards...I know exactly how much space I have and it's usually a square. That's simple. But when it's not a card, I struggle with what to put where. So, I decided to make a Halloween Treat Bag and used a card front for the front of the bag. Pure genius for someone who has a hard time thinking outside the box...or the square! LOL!

Halloween Treat Bag

My DT kit included this ADORABLE 'Buccaneer Marci' (thanks Irina). I just couldn't wait to work with her! She's such a doll! I paired her with dp's from Graphic 45. The bag is just an oversized paper lunch bag that I had in the kitchen cabinet. I aged it a bit with Vintage Photo DI and then simply rolled the top down. The gold snaps and coin are from my old scrapbook stash. The tag was cut using my Magnolia DooHickey 'Vintage Tag Die'. I used my SU scallop punch for the trim around the image. The black lace webbing is from RRR.

I colored this little cutie with a combo of Copic markers and watercolor with Ranger DI's. Here are the details:

The Official Magnolia Inspiration Challenge

(TOMIC)

Hi Everyone! Welcome to the 14th challenge over at TOMIC!!! This week we have a really, super cool theme for you...'make your own background paper'! My goal was to spend $0.00 on this project and use only that which I already had in my studio. This was a challenge I tell ya! Whenever I'm faced with the unknown, I go to the craft store for inspiration and end up spending money. This time, I searched my studio for inspiration. And I found it in my spray misters!

Here's my take on the challenge...

Boxing Tilda

When I saw this little cutie pie, I knew she was going to be the first that I would ink up. I look at #220 Boxing Tilda and I'm reminded of all that I've fought for over the years and all that I've been through to get to where I am now. It hasn't all been pretty, but I wouldn't change any of it. I'm a firm believer in our experiences shaping us, the good and the bad. I like who I am now and I love my family and my life...just the way it is. You get nowhere in life if you don't fight for what you want. That's what this image symbolizes for me.

Anyway, back to the challenge at hand...yes, I made these papers! There is a close-up below.

I thought of this Boxing Tilda as a winner...a gold medalist, and wanted to use gold and black to show her off. So, I first took my watercolor paper and sprayed it with water. Then I diluted some Spiced Marmalade - Ranger DI with water and sprayed it on the paper, followed by black Maya Mist. Once it dried I gave it a coat of a silver shimmer Maya Mist and then more spiced marmalade to brighten the yellow. While it dried, I treated some cheesecloth similarly. When everything was dry, I cut them to size and adhered the cheesecloth to the paper with Aleene's Decoupage. I took another piece of the paper and stamped a SU 'Victorian Tapestry' stamp in black.

Oh yeah! That corner piece was silver until I took my black Copic marker to it! Love my Copics!!!

The image is colored with a combo of Copic markers and watercolor with Ranger DI's. Here are the details:

DI's: black soot, spiced marmalade, scattered straw, vintage photo, pumice stone

The ruffled black ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon. The flowers are from both Magnolia and Kort & Godt. There are more details below...

The spiky little flowers are from Kort & Godt. I saw them on Hanna's blog a short while back and asked her about them. I love them so much that I bought 4 packs! I gave them a treatment similar to what Hanna had done, but in colors to match my card. I used the Maya Mists and DI's that I used on the papers and then I topped them with a bit of yellow Stickles for extra sparkle. You should see them IRL. They're really gorgeous.

La-La Land Crafts

Inspiration Friday

TGIF Everyone! It's Inspiration Friday over at La-La Land Crafts!!! Why am I involved??? Because I'm one lucky girl! Let me tell you a little story...

At CHA in Rosemont in July, I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Irina Blount, the founder of La-La Land Crafts. She had mentioned that she was going to ask me to join the DT, but then I announced my own rubber stamp line, so she didn't think that I would be interested. Here's the thing...I may have my own rubber stamp line, but that doesn't mean that I don't enjoy working with other stamp lines. And that's exactly what I told her! So, here I am! I'll be here every week for a couple of months, and then I'll be part-time after that. I'm really excited about working with these images because they're just ADORABLE!

So, this week we were asked to inspire you with 'Stitching - Faux or Real'. That's an easy one for me since I use my sewing maching on most of my cards. I decided to ink up Pilot Luka since Irina 'gifted' him to me at CHA after I told her how much I love him :-) Thanks Irina! This was my very first time working with a La-La Land image and it was an absolute pleasure.

Here's my card. I hope you like it.

Isn't he just the cutest! I just love that cardboard airplane. That's something that my son would really enjoy. So......I hope you can see my stitching. It doesn't always show too well on camera. I machine stitched all of the dp layers. The dp's, btw, are from BG's 'Oliver' collection. This is one of my fave boy collections of paper. I originally purchased two 6x6 pads and I'm trying to make them last as long as possible. Anyway, cs is by SU. The Stampendous sentiment was stamped on a tag that I cut with one of the Magnolia DooHickey 'Dream Tag' dies. Then I ripped it up a bit, crinkled it, and gave it additional age by rubbing the edge with some DI (I think I used both Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo by Ranger). I also gave some cheesecloth some age with the same method, but I finished it off by spritzing it with water and rubbing it between my hands to take away the edges of ink pads.

I grabbed buttons from my stash and laced them with some natural string. The gears are chipboard pieces from MIC. I painted them with a silver paint pen and then rubbed them with a bit of DI for some age. The image is painted entirely with watercolor with DI's. Here are the color details:

Ranger DI's: tea dye, tattered rose, antique linen, vintage photo, walnut stain, scattered straw, weathered wood, tumbled glass, shabby shutters, peeled paint, black soot, pumice stone

Today I have a very simple bookmark/tag to show you. I didn't have a lot of time, so a bookmark/tag was a great choice. And, it fits the 'Back To School' theme perfectly. I already had the base of the tag sitting on my craft desk. I actually cut it out quite a while ago when I got the Magnolia DooHickey 'Old Swedish Lace' die from Magnolia-licious. I just never got around to using it!

So, I picked out dp's from BoBunny's 'Vicki B' 6x6 paper pad, which is currently on sale at Love To Stamp. Then I looked through my stamps from Magnolia's 'Winner Takes All' collection and I just had to use this sweet little #378 'Chess Tilda'. I JUST LOVE HER GLASSES!!! I don't ever remember seeing a Tilda with glasses and I think she is just the sweetest thing! I have her sitting on #557 Soccer Bench. The entire 'Winner Takes All' collection is available at Magnolia-licious. You can also get the entire collection in Mini form!!! Magnolia-licious has the lowest prices and best customer service. It's the only place that I shop for my Magnolia's.

What else is on this tag? I practically shredded some cheesecloth and scrunched it up behind the image. I grabbed some orange string from my stash, wrapped it around a few times, and then split the ends. I topped the knot with a heart button that I found in my button drawer. The sentiment is from Hero Arts and I stamped it on some kraft paper cut with my Magnolia DooHickey 'Dream Tag' die. The flowers and gems were left over from a Magnolia DT kit that I got many months back. And finally, all edges were given a bit of age with some Ranger DI Walnut Stain.

I colored this little cutie with Copic markers. Here are the color details:

Little Darlings Challenges DT

Hi Everyone!!! This time, the Little Darlings Challenges theme is 'Ruffles/Pleats'. Sounds easy huh? Well, not for me! I'm not a ruffles and pleats kinda gal. In fact, if I were a Spice Girl, I would definitely be Sporty Spice. I was a tomboy as child and still don't feel completely comfortable in a dress. So, this theme was DEFINITELY a CHALLENGE for me!!! OMGoodness! I put ruffles here and ruffles there...and kept removing them and praying that I would NOT tear the paper! Oy! Fortunately, I'm really happy with the result :-)

I can say this with absolute certainty...Thank the Lord for Scor-Tape! I was able to tape ruffles into place and then remove them and the Scor-Tape without tearing any paper! Whoo Hoo!!! This is why I've added it to my Love To Stamp store, along with several other awesome products from Scor-Pal. My plan was to fill my store with my most favorite things that I would strongly recommend to someone, and the Scor-Pal products are definitely some of my favorite things!

Warm Winter Wishes

So, here it is! I couldn't wait to work with this image titled 'Every Stocking Counts'! The idea of her hanging up that little sock of hers is just adorable! I colored the image with a combo of Copic markers and watercolor with DI's. Here are the details:

DI's: antique linen, vintage photo, walnut stain, fired brick, shabby shutters, peeled paint, forest moss, black soot, worn lipstick, tumbled glass

I have no idea what the shape of this card is called, but I wanted to do something with a pocket for the sentiment. I tried putting ribbon ruffles everywhere and failed miserably. Then I settled on making pleats from cardstock. THANK YOU SCOR-BUDDY!!! I just love my Scor-Buddy! It made making these pleats a breeze! Besides that, it's so light and the perfect size to take with me wherever I go crafting. PLUS, they're available now at Love To Stamp so go get yourself one!

The dp's are from the Three Bugs In A Rug 'Deck the Halls' collection. I also used them to cut the snowflakes with my Marianne Design Creatables dies. I also gave them a coat of Hero Arts - Prisma Glitter. I put little clear snowflakes in the middle (from my stash) and topped it with a purple gem. The corner pieces were cut with my SB Fleur De Lis Accents set. I also used it for the top of the pocket card and gave it a coat of the same glitter.

Here you can see the pocket card a little better. The sentiment is from a Whimsy set that I got last year titled 'Winter Letter Seals'. I backed it with another piece cut from the same SB die set. There are also more purple gems all over the place! I went a little crazy with them!

The gorgeous dp's are from the Webster's Pages 'Wonderfall' collection and they're absolutely perfect with this #298 Scarecrow Tilda. All cs is Bazzill. The flowers and lace are from WOC. I layered some cheese cloth in the background, after staining it a bit with some of my DI's and a spritz of water to blend. The image is colored with Copic markers, but I don't have the color details...sorry! I colored it while waiting for my son at summer camp and never wrote down the color details before putting the markers away. Anyway, the edges of the image were also stained a bit with the DI's.

Here's the inside of the card. The dp from Webster's Pages is, again... perfect. I added some more daisies from WOC and stamped a sentiment from SU.

Summer Games...

Hi Everybody!!! Can you believe we've already made it past the middle of August? Why is it time flies when the weather is warm, but the freezing cold months seem to hang on forever??

Boy, I'll tell ya, this summer has really thrown me for a loop! I don't ever seem to have time to color in my studio, so I've had to make due elsewhere. For eight weeks I took my son to camp. It was a short camp that only lasted 1.5 hours, twice per week. It was an hours drive in each direction, so I learned how to pack up minimal coloring materials and bought an inexpensive plastic lap desk at the craft store. I worked with both Copic markers and PrismaColor Pencils. I didn't always keep what I colored because I was so limited with colors, but sometimes things turned out ok. You'll see in a moment :-)

PaperPlay Challenges Team A

When it comes to food and cards :-) The recipe is 3 different embellishments, 2 patterned papers, and 1 lace. Hmmmmm, What to do? What to do? First, I want to know what you're going to do! Summer Games

So, as I was mentioning earlier, I had a few colored images waiting in the wings. Thank Goodness!!! I found myself with a very unexpected, sizable, and completely UN-FUN project on my hands late last week (I'm still working on it!!!) and I didn't have much time to spend in my studio. Fortunately, this Little Darlings 'Croquet' image was perfect for this project. I paired her with two dp's from the Authentique 'Uncommon' collection. I just love these papers! The entire pad is pink. Yes, pink. I realize that it's not a favorite color of mine, but it is gorgeous in this paper pad. And it's paired with my favorite color - brown :-)

Now for the lace and three embellies... The lace - I didn't want to do my usual strap of lace across the card, so I pulled it with thread into a handmade flower. Embellie #1 - I added a heart shaped doily from my collection. Embellie #2 - an assortment of flowers from both Magnolia and WOC. Embellie #3 - die cut heart shaped leaves using the new Magnolia DooHickey Die "Heart Swirl". This is my absolute favorite new cutting die and you can get yours at Magnolia-licious - the best place to get all of your Magnolia products!!! Diana always has great prices, the best customer service, and tons of Magnolia products to choose from.

As for the coloring...not good news. I colored this quite a while ago and have no idea which colors I used. Sorry!!!

Little Darlings Challenge #5

Hello Everyone! And welcome to another Little Darlings Challenge!!! This week's theme is 'School Days'. The Little Darlings Challenge Blog has all of the details of how you can enter and what you can win. The Design Team has come up with some absolutely inspirational projects so make sure to stop by their blogs to see their details. Don't forget, we've got two new fantastic DT ladies (Sara and Louise) and they've hit the ground running with some fabulous artistry!!!

Here's my project....

You've Got Style!

I chose to work with the Little Darlings "First Bell" image for this challenge. She's absolutely the sweetest thing and available right now at Love To Stamp, so head of over now and get yours! She was a ton of fun to color with her long flowing hair and skirt. I enjoyed it so much that I've actually started coloring her again for another project! You'll see that another time :-) As you know, I love rich, dark colors. I picked up this paper at a local craft store and intended on using it for a boy card. Then I thought "why can't it be used for a girl project?". We're always using purples and pinks for girls, but girls can love Autumn colors too. So, here it is. It's for a girl and it's got blue, orange, gold, green.....and I LOVE IT!

I found this notebook at Joann's and thought it would be great covered and decorated for school. I added a pocket on the front for the bookmark. The ribbon is actually some Halloween ribbon that I had in my ribbon drawer from last year. The text is an old rub-on from my old scrapbooking days. The scallop was cut using a SU punch.

Here's a closeup of the bookmark. I colored the image with Copics, but failed to keep track of the colors. Sorry! The ribbons are all from my stash and I think some are SU. The flowers are from WOC and Magnolia. There's a little doily in the background and I think it's from MS. I picked up the sentiment at a local rubber stamp show over the weekend but I already peeled the sticker off of it! Sorry again! I'm not doin' really well on the materials list on this one!

PaperPlay Challenges DT

Merry Christmas in August!!! Do I have your attention??? Yes, it is time for another PaperPlay Challenge and this week we're celebrating "Christmas in August". Wow, it's been a looooooong time since I've made a Christmas card! It took a while to actually get in the groove. It's usually really cold in Michigan by the time Christmas comes around. It's been around 90 degrees here so I really had to use my imagination. Believe me, I'm not complaining about the gorgeous weather we've been having, I'm just saying that it makes it a stretch to come up with a good Christmas card!

The timing was perfect in one respect though...I've got a sneaky peek of the upcoming Little Darlings Christmas stamps to show you. This is the very first glimse at these little cuties! Once I got into the Christmas mood, I had so much fun working with this image!!!

This Little Darling is called "Decorating the Tree". This stamp is a little taste of the gorgeous LD Christmas stamps that will be released soon. She's just adorable trying to get that star on the top of that tree! I love how she's pulling the tree over just enough to attach it. I hope it doesn't fall in her!!! Yikes!

I paired this image with dp's from Pink Paislee's 'Father Christmas' pad from last year. I still love these papers and I'm thrilled that I have a second paper pad to dig into this year :-) I often purchase my faves in pairs...hehehe. I also threw in a sheet from the Memory Box 'Spiceberry' pad from last year. The lace and pleated ribbon are from my stash. The corner plates and snowflakes were a gift from my sweet friend, Mindy. The corner plates were silver, but I coated them with a dark brown Copic marker to give them a bit of age. I have no idea which color I grabbed though...sorry! The bingo card sentiment is from Jenni Bowlin. I added diamond Stickles to the edges of the image and all over the Christmas tree. The whole card got a bit of aging by rubbing the edges with Ranger walnut stain.

I colored the image with a combo of Copic markers and watercolor with DI's. It was sooooooo much fun getting back to painting again. I really missed it! Here are the details of the colors that I used:

Copics: E000, 00, 02, 11, 13, 41, 42, 43, 50, Y11, 21, YR23

DI's: shabby shutters, peeled paint, forest moss, antique linen, walnut stain, vintage photo, black soot, fired brick

Magnolia-licious DT Challenge!!!

Happy Wednesday Everyone!!! Today I've got my Magnolia-licious DT Challenge card to show you. The current challenge over at Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog is 'Nothin' But Paper!'. That's right! Diana challenged us girls to make something using absolutely nothin' but paper! All I can say is "Thank goodness for my Doo Hickey dies!".

I use my Scor-Buddy with almost every single paper project that I make. I honestly don't know how I got along without it! I must admit, my first scoring tool was an inferior product. Once I had my Scor-Buddy, the difference in the quality of the materials and the quality of the scores was very obvious. I donated the 'old' one and never looked back.

The No More Shims mat is TOTALLY COOL! I got to see first hand at CHA just how deep the embossing is when using this mat. It's my new MUST HAVE crafting tool.

Finally, the Glitter 'Clean Up Cloth' is a must have for anyone that uses glitter. As you know, it gets on EVERYTHING! This tacky cloth allows you to easily clean up your work surface so it's completely glitter free! LOVE IT!

Well, you've all seen this little 'Nurse Tilda' as a mini in the Magnolia kit, but have you seen her in the full size yet? Neither had I until Diana gifted her to me at CHA. You're tooooooo sweet Diana! Thank you!!! Isn't this image just the cutest? I couldn't wait to ink her up and you have no idea how difficult it was to hold this post until now! Anyway, she'll be available at Magnolia-licious really soon!

I wanted to see how many Magnola products I could use on this card and, I must say, I got quite a few! The dp's are from the Mini Sweet Rainbow Paper Pack. I used almost the entire pack on this card! The large flowers and leaves were cut using the following Doo Hickey dies: Bon Voyage Foliage, Doily Flowers, and Heart Swirl. The red roses were cut using the Marianne Design Creatables - Flower Buds and Leaves Die. The bottom edge of the card and background to the image were cut using a MS edge punch. I added bits of a white doily for a little more interest behine the image. You almost can't see it, but there's a paper ribbon behind the image that I cut with another MS punch. I cut the image with a SB oval grand nestie. All cs is by SU.

I colored the Tilda with Copic markers. The details are below. I chose to make her uniform pink because white simply wouldn't stand out from the background enough.

The Official Magnolia Inspiration Challenge

"TOMIC"

Happy August 1st Everyone! Man, I cannot believe how quickly this summer is flying by!!! Only one more month until school starts up again and then I can get back to my routine. Unfortunately, that also means that the weather will start turning cold again...boohoo!!! But, until then we still have sunshine and summer fun. Speaking of which, I have a card today showing off Edwin in one of his favorite summer sports - Soccer!

The TOMIC challenge this week is to make something 'Round'. You can get all of the details on the TOMIC blog. There you can also catch a sneak peek at the projects from the rest of Group 3. They are sure to WOW you and provide much inspiration!!!

I wanted to do something a little more interesting than the circular cards that I've made in the past. I pulled out my last Magnolia stamp kit and saw, what I call, 'Soccer Edwin' just sitting there beggin' to be inked up. Technically, he's called 'Football Edwin', but here in the States we refer to it as soccer :-) Anyway, then I thought...'a soccer ball is round...why not make Edwin's background a giant soccer ball!'.

You Are Truly Amazing!

Isn't he just the cutest! I just love these Magnolia images with their summer sports. This little guy makes the most perfect card for a boy's birthday or any other special occasion. This stamp was a part of the last kit and should be released very soon.

I colored this sweet lil' guy with PrismaColor Pencils on Kraft paper. I'm really enjoying working with them. However, as you can see, I have a lot to learn! I cut the circle shape with my SB nestie. I found a soccer ball template online and traced it onto the Bazzill cs using my son's lightbox. Then I simply colored it in using a black Copic marker.

I cut the grass using a Magnolia Doo Hickey die. Both the ribbon and buttons were from my stash.

Here's a photo of the inside. Since it's for a boy, I kept it simple with just a few buttons. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.
