Tilda and the Beanstalk...

Hi Everyone!!!  I'm finally back with another card.  I've been working on this project for about a week and a half...coloring here and there when I can.  I was originally going to use these images for a project for yesterday's Magnolia-licious Blog Hop, but I couldn't get it colored in time.  I won't go into the boring details of what I've been up to since it's all work related and really boring.  So, I will just get right to my project!  I hope you like it :-)

Tilda and the Beanstalk
When I received my Magnolia-licious DT Kit, the first thing I wanted to do was ink up this little cutie!  I just love her!!!!!!!!!!  Look at Tilda on that Beanstalk!  Anything cuter?  I don't think sooooooo!  Her official name is Beanstalk Tilda and she's resting on the Beanstalk after quite a long climb up into the clouds.  Both are available at Magnolia-licious right now and are discounted 10%!  How's that for a deal?  Head on over and get yours while supplies last.  With the nursery rhyme theme, they are perfect for a child's birthday or a baby shower.  I really love the idea of using them for a baby shower.  I would have loved to receive a card with these images on it when I was pregnant with my son.

Both images are colored with Copic markers...and lots of them!  Because I was working on the coloring throughout the past 10 or so days, I have no idea which colors I used.  All of the flowers are from WOC and were given to me by my sweet friends Mindy and Claudia.  Thank you Sweeties!!!  A girl can never have enough flowers!  The papers are from an old BG 6x6 pad.  The gorgeous lace and doily are from my stash.  I cut the dragonflies with a Magnolia DooHickey die.  I don't see it in stock at Magnolia-licious right now, but they have tons of other dies to choose from right now.  They've started stocking Cheery Lynn Dies, Marianne Dies and Memory Box Dies and they've got a really good selection at great prices.

One more thing before I go!  I was supposed to post my 'Cutie Pie' CANDY winner over the weekend but I just plain forgot!  Oy!  Anywho.....I let random.org do the pickin' and it chose.....................................

Isn't She Lovely...

Little Darlings Rubber Stamps
New Release

"Spring Is In The Air"

Hello Everyone!  Boy oh boy do we have a great release and show for you today!!!  Little Darlings Rubber Stamps is releasing some adorable new images for spring and the collection is called 'Spring is in the Air'.  They are on sale today so be sure to get yours while supplies last!!!

The Design Team has a special blog hop going on to show off the new collection.  And we've got some amazingly talented Guest Designers playing along to inspire you as well.  Thank you everyone for doing such an outstanding job with your creations!!!  You're all so awesome!!!

Now on to the Hop!  I am the last stop on the Hop.  If you've come to my blog by way of the fabulous Ruby, then you're on the right track.  If not, then feel free to start from the beginning at Little Darlings Challenges so that you don't miss a thing!....including a special prize for a lucky follower!!!

Today I'm showcasing 'Isn't She Lovely'.  I taught a class in Puerto Rico last Fall and made two cards for the class.  Well, actually, I made one card and the manufacturer couldn't supply enough of the papers so I used the same image with the upcoming line of papers that the manufacturer then sent to me.  I've never shown the cards on my blog so today was the perfect opportunity.  In fact, I had this collection of stamps designed specifically for the Puerto Rico classes and I'm finally releasing them today so you can all enjoy them!

So, since I made two cards, I decided to show you how you can use the same image, layout and embellishments with two very different looks by simply using different dp's.

Isn't She Lovely

This is the card that I ultimately used for the class.  The dp's are from MME and the embellishments are by American Crafts.  'Isn't She Lovely' is colored with Copic markers.  These colors are bright and playful and perfect for a 'Love' themed card.  Because the colors are so bright, they are perfect for Spring and Summer too!

Here is an angled view to show off some of the dimension on the card.

This is the first card that I made for the class but the dp's were not available for the entire class.  The dp's are from MME and the embellishments are by American Crafts. 'Isn't She Lovely' is colored with Copic markers.  As you can see, using different dp's can create an entirely different feel to the card.  This one is much darker and creates a more vintage or romantic feel.

CANDY
I have a litte giveaway today as well.  I'm offering up one of my Cutie Pie stamps to a lucky commentor on this post.  All you have to do to enter the random drawing is leave a comment below on this post and I will have random.org select the winner on Friday March 16th at 8pm EST.  I'll post the winner over the weekend.

Keep in mind, the can use the image as it is stamped, with two ballerina's dancing together.  Or, you could cut them apart and use them separately or only one on a card/project.  It's an extremely versatile stamp.  So for those of you that have a daughter, grand-daughter, niece, or a friend who loves ballet...this could be the perfect stamp for you :-)

Here's what you could win!

Well, that is it for me today!  I hope you enjoyed the Blog Hop and were inspired to go spend some time in your craft room.  The 'Spring is in the Air' collection is on sale right now at Little Darlings Rubber Stamps.  Get yours while supplies last!!!

Ciao!

Koala Hugs...

Hi Everyone!  I feel like it's been forever since I've been here!  Crafting time has been really limited lately and it's going to get even worse...but for a very good reason...and I'm excited about it!  Hubby and I started designing a house over a year ago.  We've been back and forth with it making changes and then more changes.  Well, we finally approved the final floor plan this week.  Now the architect will spend the next 30 days working on the construction drawings.  What does this mean for me???  Well, {deep breath}...I now need to spend most of the next 30 days running two businesses, getting the 2011 financials ready for the accountant for both businesses, getting everything up to date for the 2012 first quarter, and gathering all of our personal financials so that I can present it all to the bank for the construction loan.  So....I may not be here very much in the coming weeks.  I'm going to do my best to get the necessary projects completed, but I won't have time for anything in between :-(  But it will all be worth it in the end!  The plan is to break ground on the new house before June.  We're hoping to move in before May 2013.  We'll be a lot closer to our son's school so I will no longer have the one hour drive to school in the morning.  But, this also means that we need to put our current house up for sale and that's a whole task in and of itself!  What do I do with the dog when the house is being shown?  I guess I'll have to take her on lots of rides in the car!

On another note, I finally had the opportunity to complete a card with the image that I painted with Koala Hug Tilda.  I had the pleasure of meeting Bronlyn at CHA and she gave me this little cutie to work with.  I hope she likes what I've done with her!

Koala Hugs

I absolutely love this image of Koala Hug Tilda!  If you don't have your own yet, be sure to get her at Magnolia-licious so you can get FREE SHIPPING!  I have backed her with Magnolia's Tip Leaves and Sun.  I use these Tip Leaves a lot because they're so incredibly versatile.  I stamped them a couple of times to give Tilda a really lush background of the leaves.  I hand drew the grass myself with DI's and Copics.  The images were colored with a combo of both.  Oh yeah...I cut the card shapes with a new die set from Go Kreate.  My hubby got me a few new sets for my birthday...I just told him that yesterday when they arrived.  LOL!!!

I turned to my BG 'Capella' paper pad for dp's this time.  The have such a soft romatic feel about them.  The big green flower is handmade and the rest are from WOC and Webster's Pages.  The gorgeous pink ribbon was given to me by the sweet Suzan L  at CHA.  I'm gonna have to ask her where she got it cause I just love it!!!  The bright yellow sun got a coat of yellow Stickles for some sparkle.  The doily is from my stash.

The inside of the card is very simple.  I used a coordinating dp from the paper pad.  The sentiment is from my stash.

Well that is it for me today!  I really enjoyed showing you my project and I truly hope you enjoyed visiting.  Feel free to leave me a little comment to let me know that you stopped by!

Hugs to you all :-)

Fresh Picked Flowers...

Hi Everyone! I've got a card to show you today that I designed for my monthly card class that I teach.  Class was held yesterday and we had a great time.  We colored up 'Fresh Picked Flowers' from my Cutie Pie release.  We had a full class, which included a couple of ladies that joined us for the first time.  We began at 10 a.m., took a break for lunch, and continued to work until some time around 3:30 p.m. or so.  It was long class but we were constantly busy and having a good time.  Class ran longer this time because we colored two images this time.  The background is a little sneak peek of something new from Little Darlings Rubber Stamps.  Let me know what you think of it!  We'll have backgrounds available to you really soon!

So, here is my card.  I apologize for the poor quality of the photo.  I took so many photos and spent so much time editing them.  For some reason the colors that I used on her cheeks were coming out super duper red!  She looked like she had a fever in the photos!  I think the photo lamps were adding too much yellow to the pics and when I tried to reduce it, it magnified everything with red undertones.  What a fiasco!  So, I dumped the photo tent and lamps for the time being and took the pic with the natural light from the window.  The colors are much truer to the actual card now.

Fresh Picked Flowers

As I mentioned, this stamp is called 'Fresh Picked Flowers' and she's from the new Cutie Pie release from Little Darlings Rubber Stamps.  The dp's are from an Authentique 6x6 paper pad.  Flowers are all from WOC, and with the exception of the white one, were given to me by my friend Claudia...Thanks Claudia!!!  I used a Magnolia 'Leaf & Swirl' DooHickey die and a Sizzix leaf die as well.  This is my favorite DooHickey die for Spring so you'll probably be seeing it a lot on my projects.  You can get a bunch of DooHickey dies at Magnolia-licious.  Diana stocks almost all of them, as well as dies from other manufacturers.  I don't see the 'Swirl' die in stock right now, but you can easily send an inquiry to Diana and I'm sure she'll get one ordered for you.  The ribbons, pearls and pearl pin are from my stash.  Lastly, I used a MS border punch to cut the trim piece to the left of the image.

Well, that's all I have for you today.  Thank you so much for stopping by!!!

Hugs,

Angie

Babies are Angels with Invisible Wings...

Magnolia-licious DT Challenge

Hello Everyone!  It's time for another Magnolia-licious DT Challenge!!!  Boy how time flies!  The theme this time around is 'movement'...we had to have something on our project that 'moved'.  This was not at all easy for me and to be honest, I waited til the very last minute to make my project because I had absolutely no idea what to make!  I searched the internet for ideas and just came up empty.  Nothing appealed to me.  Then I remembered a little conversation that I had with Patti Jo at CHA.  She came back to the booth with a little wobbly thingy that I had never seen before.  After explaining to me what it was and how she had used them in the past, she gave it to me to try.  I had forgotten all about it!  I darted up to my craft room and found the bag that I prayed it was in and.......it was still there in the corner of the bottom of the bag!!!  Yay!  Thank you Patti Jo!

So, I'll show you my card in a moment.  But first, as usual you can join in on the fun of this challenge by entering your project at the Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog.  There is always a fantastic prize to be won.  I can't wait to see what you make!!!

Now for my project.....I received some stamps from Magnolia in my DT Kit from the new 'Princes and Princesses Collection' and this is the last one that I have to ink up.  I just found out that a friend of mine is pregnant so I decided to make a card for her.  Here goes!

Babies are Angels
with
Invisible Wings

This card is very unusual for me since there is no image on the front.  I'm still trying to come to terms with the design.  The sentiment is by Hero Arts and is propped up on the 'wobble thingy' so it jiggles when you handle the card.  It's actually kinda cool!  The dp's are from the Simple Stories 'Baby Steps' 6x6 paper pad and cs is by Bazzill.  We don't know yet whether the baby is a boy or girl so I tried to make this a gender neutral card.  I stamped the new Magnolia 'Kurbitz Corner' design in the upper left corner of the checked paper.  I really like these corner stamps because you can easily add additional interest to an otherwise bare space.  The sentiment was stamped on a shape that I cut with a Sizzix Decorative Label #4 die that I've had forever and never use.  The brown stitching is hand drawn.  I cut the cream swirl with a Magnolia 'Leaf & Swirl' DooHickey die.  I also cut some leaves from a scrap of the checked paper using a Magnolia 'Bon Voyage Foliage' DooHickey die.  That big ol' flower is by Prima and I thought I'd never find a use for it.  I've had a love/hate relationship with because I think it's really pretty, but I've never been able to make it work on a project!  Mission accomplished!  Hmmmmm.....is there anything that I missed?  Oh yeah, the button, string, ribbon and pearls are from my stash.  And, I used a MS punch in there somewhere too.

Here's the simple but beautiful inside of the card.  I wanted to keep this very simple to show off the image and because the dp is fairly busy already.  This little sweetie is called 'Mother To Be Tilda' and she's available for pre-order right now at Magnolia-licious.  In fact, the entire 'Princes & Princesses Collection' is on pre-order right now!!!  They will be arriving very soon so get yours ordered now so you can get what you want before they're gone!  I colored Tilda very gently with Copic markers.  The simple sentiment is from my stash and it's by Endless Creations.  I left a little space for a personal note to my friend.

I tried to capture a picture of that little 'wobbly thingy' that's behind the sentiment on the front of the card.  If you look closely you can see the white plastic spring that causes the wobbling.

Well....that's it for me today!  I really enjoyed showing my project to you and I hope you had a good visit as well.  Have a wonderful day!  And don't forget to pop on over to my DT sista's blogs to see what they made!

Hugs,

Angie
