Little Darlings Pre-Sneak Peek!!!

PaperPlay Challenges

Hello Everyone!!!  It's time for another PaperPlay Challenge and I've got a little surprise for you!  First, the challenge is to use something that wasn't made for crafting.  I chose to work with a doily.  Now I know what you're thinking...everyone uses doilies on their paper crafts!  But, technically, they weren't made for crafting!  This one was actually from under my drink at a restaurant (hehehe)!!!  Now, the rest of the DT gals have some really great things to show you too so I hope you'll take a look at their blogs too :-)

Now for the surprise!!!!!  As I announced last week, I'm opening my own online craft store, Love To Stamp, and launching a new rubber stamp line, Little Darlings.  The Love To Stamp Grand Opening is May 16th.  The sneak peeks are scheduled to officially kick off on May 2nd, but...........I couldn't wait to ink up one of my 'Darling' images and, well, I needed to make something for this challenge so I decided to throw caution to the wind and color up a little surprise for you.  I hope you enjoy it!

Going for a Ride

This 'Little Darling' is called 'Going for a Ride' and it's part of my new rubber stamp line titled "Little Darlings".  Isn't it just the cutest???  I promise you...all of the others are just as cute :-)  I paired 'Going for a Ride' with one of the backgrounds from MIC called 'Petals and Palings' and I just LOVE the combination!

This beautifully shaped card was cut using my Grand Calibur and the SB Grand Nestie 'Labels 4' dies.  The gorgeous dp's are by Lily Bee Design's 'Picket Fence' collection and will be available in my store...Love To Stamp.  The flowers are from several manufacturers:  Magnolia, WOC, Recollections, and Petaloo.

I colored this 'Little Darling' with Copic markers.  Here are the details:

skin - E0000, 000, 00, 01, 11, R20
hair - E41, 42, 43, 44, Y21
dress - BV0000, 00, 02
wheelbarrow- E41, 42, 43, 44, W00, 1, 3, 5, 7
cat - N0, 1
greenery - YG21, 23, 25
flowers - R35, 37, Y08
fence - E40, W1, 3
sky - B60, 0000, 0, N0

That's it for today!  I really hope you enjoyed my card.  I so absolutely enjoyed making it and showing off one of my Little Darlings rubber stamps.

I'll have more announcements about Love To Stamp and Little Darlings in the coming days.  So stay tuned!!!

Rosie with Cake...

Hello Everybody and welcome to the beginning of a new week!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  Mine was very relaxing, which was badly needed.  Yesterday we stopped by J. Alexander's for dinner.  My son had been requesting it all week long.  He loves the grilled artichoke appetizer.  It's to die for!!!  He's only 7 years old, but has the palate of an adult.  It's my favorite item on the menu as well.  Maybe it's the Italian heritage!  My mouth is watering right now while thinking about them.  They are sooooooooo YUMMY!

Anyway, I hosted my monthly card class on April 2nd and chose a LOTV image for the card.  The class was a blast!  I've met some really sweet ladies and we have a great time.  I'm already looking forward to the next class.

So here is the card I made for the class.  I hope you like it :-)

Rosie with Cake

As stated, this is a LOTV image and she's called 'Rosie with Cake'.  I paired her with some new dp's from BasicGrey called 'Life of the Party'.  These papers just scream summer!  The colors are so HOT!  Love them!  The image and background were cut with a Spellbinder's nestability die.  The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps and they have a wonderful stamp die that you can get to go with it.  The ribbon is seam binding that I dyed using my distress inks.  The button and string are from my stash.

I colored the image with Copic markers, but I no longer have the details.  Sorry!  I need to make sure to keep the list when cleaning up after class.  When I clean, it's not uncommon for everything in my path to be thrown away!

Well, that's it for today!  I hope you enjoyed your stay.  I would love it if you would leave a little comment to let me know you were here :-)

You're So Cool!!!

Hey Everyone!  It's time for another challenge at PaperPlay Challenges!!!  This week we have a photo inspiration and it's a rockin' cool one!  The challenge is being sponsored by Kenny K and I had a ton of fun coloring one of his images.  The DT girls came up with some really great inspiration for ya'll, so be sure to check out their work.

Here's my card...I hope you like it :-)

you're so cool
I chose to work with Kenny K's 'Soho'.  And, because I think she's so cool, I used the most appropriate sentiment from Verve Stamps.  I used a mix of dp's from DCWV and Creative Imaginations.  The image looks like a rock star and I think the dp's definitely compliment that.  I used all black cs by SU.

The purple flowers are from Magnolia and I spritzed a couple of them with some black Maya Mist.  The large flower in the background started out white and got sprayed with black and silver metallic Maya Mist.  The sentiment and it's matte were cut with SU punches.  The corner piece is from WOC and the gems are by Bazzill.  I colored the image with Copic markers, but I'm missing the detail this time.  Sorry :-(

That's it for today!  I hope you enjoyed your visit and will leave a comment to let me know that you stopped by :-)

Cheeky Boy...

Hi Everyone!  I hope your week is off to a good start!  Mine has been very busy so far.  I'm working really hard on a new venture that I'll be sharing with you in a couple weeks.  So stay tuned for that!

Today I've got something new for you...and for me.  I purchased some Stampavie images a couple months ago and they have been on my craft desk just waiting for some attention.  I had a lot of things lined up that I had to tend to, but I was able to ink one the other day and I had a blast working with it.  I hope you like it :-)

Cheeky Boy
This image is by Penny Johnson and it's called 'Cheeky Boy'.  Of the stack of Stampavie images that I purchased, I chose to ink this one up first because it makes me think of my son.  I don't do 'boy' cards often, which made this one that much more fun.  I paired the image with dp's from PinkPaislee's 'Hometown Summer' collection.  The entire 6x6 paper pad is filled with beautiful prints that work so well for both boy and girl designs.  The ribbon is from Bazzill Basics and I found it in a dollar bin at Archiver's a while back.  Cs is by both Bazzill and SU.  The playful buttons are from my button drawer.  I have a lot of buttons!  I got the sentiment from Cats Life Press.  I just love the circular sentiments.  I wanted to add a bit of shine and sparkle to the card to I applied some stardust Stickles to the kite and Crystal Effects to the ice cream and the water in the fish bowl.  It looks great IRL.

I colored the image entirely with Copic markers, which I'm completely addicted to once again.  I used soooooo many colors and I failed to write them all down.  I have this problem with cleaning things up as I go and I sometimes forget to record the materials before doing so.  I'm sorry :-(

Well, that's all I have for today.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you'll leave a little comment to let me know that you were here :-)

Hello Little Butterfly!

Hi Everybody!!!  I hope you all had a great weekend!  I'm finally feeling more like myself again.  It sure was a tough couple of weeks.  My son was home for a week and a half and I was sick through the whole thing :-(  Fortunately, hubby stepped up and helped out a lot.  I think he was feeling really sorry for me.

My new stamps from Magnolia's 'Butterfly Dreams' collection have been sitting on my craft desk just taunting me.  Hubby took our son to a movie yesterday and I was definitely in the mood to color after having been away from my studio for so long.  I inked up 2 of the new stamps and I just love how my card turned out.  I hope you like it too!

Hello Little Butterfly

This little cutie is #321 Hello Little Butterfly and I paired her with #505 Stone Pathway.  Both are from Magnolia's 'Butterfly Dreams' collection and are available at Magnolia-licious, along with the rest of the collection.  These gorgeous dp's are from PinkPaislee's 'Butterfly Garden' paper pad and they're just stunning!  I love the entire pad.  Tilda is backed with a matte that I cut using my Spellbinder's 'Lacey Square' die.  The vertical strip was punched with a MS border punch and layered with some lace from my stash.  The leaves were also cut with a MS border punch.  Both the ribbon and pearl are from my stash.  All of the flowers are from WOC.

I colored the entire scene with Copic markers.  I honestly haven't worked with my DI's much lately because I've been enjoying my Copics.  Sometimes you just need a change for a bit.  But, I'm sure I'll miss them and will start using them again soon :-)

Here are the details of the colors that I used:

Skin:  E0000, 000, 00, 01, 11, 13, R20
Hair:  E41, 42, 43, 44, 47
Flowers:  YR00, 04, R02, 08
Dress:  E40, 81, YG91, 95, W00, 1, 3
Boots:  E40, 41, 43, 44, W3
Rocks/Grass:  E40, W1, 3, 5, 7, YG91, 95, E87
Sky:  B0000, BG70

Oh!  A quick reminder about the Magnolia-licious Easter-Spring Extravaganza Contest!!!  It runs til April 19th so you still have plenty of time to get your project entered for one of the fabulous prizes!!!  I can't wait to see what you come up with!!!!!!!!

Well, that's it for today.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you'll leave a little comment to let me know that you were here :-)

Shabby, yet Chic!

Hi Everyone!!!  I've got a card to show today that is very out of the ordinary for me.  I have some of the beautiful, soft, and sweet Melissa Frances papers and I wanted to do something equally soft with them.  I had also just received some stamps that I had ordered from Diana and couldn't wait to use them.  I've been pretty sick lately, with a really bad sinus infection and now a virus on top of that.  I had a day when I felt good and wanted to make something really quickly.  This is what I came up with.  I hope you like it :-)

Tilda Hugging Bunny

This adorable image is #305 Tilda Hugging Bunny.  I don't see her in stock over at Magnolia-licious right now, but I bet she'll be back soon.  As I mentioned, the dp's are from Melissa Frances' '5th Avenue' collection.  I colored the bunny, Tilda's hair and skin with Copic markers, but her clothes and background were painted very lightly using watercolor with Ranger DI's.  Because the colors are so soft, the painting didn't take long at all.  I think this entire card only took about 1.5 hours!  This style is soooooooo not me, but I absolutely LOVE how it turned out and I really enjoyed trying something new.  I may not be able to give this one up!

All of the flowers and lace are from WOC.  I cut the sweet little butterflies with a MS punch/stamp combo set.  The pearl sprays are from the wedding section at Michael's.  I used my Zutter distressing tool on all of the edges and then inked them with Ranger walnut stain.  The metal corners are from WOC as well.  They, along with nearly every piece of paper and the flowers, were brushed with a bit of Ranger crackle paint in 'Picket Fence'.  The pearls at the top are from my stash.

Here's a view of the card closed and flat so you can see the tattered edges and the dimension of the embellies.

Copics - E0000, 00, 01, 11, 40, 41, 42, 44, 50, R00, W1, 3

DI's - tumbled glass, weathered wood, pumice stone, shabby shutters, vintage photo, antique linen, tattered rose, walnut stain

I'm entering this card in the Just Magnolia/Just Hanglar DT Call.  I'm crossing my fingers!

I'm sorry to say that I don't have the coloring details for these cards.  Here is what I can tell you...

All stamps are by Magnolia.  Flowers are from WOC.  I colored the images in both cards with a combo of Copic markers and watercolor with Ranger distress inks.

Over at Just Magnolia/Hanglar Stanglar Challenge Blog, there is a DT Call going on.  I'm entering these cards.  Lets hope they like them!
