Tulip Wheelbarrow

To me, tulips represent the beginning of Spring and they're one of my favorite flowers.  I absolutely fell in love with this stamp the moment that I saw it.  I don't often think to use an accessory or background stamp as the main course of a card.  But this gorgeous #560 Tulip Wheelbarrow can easily stand on its own.  It's currently up for pre-order over at Magnolia-licious and you won't be disappointed if you add it to your Magnolia collection.

I chose to work with dp's by My Mind's Eye and they just scream spring!  They are absolutely lovely with this stamp.  I also made my own background paper using a new stamp from Whimsy Stamps called 'Music Notes'.  The 'Happy Easter' sentiment is also new from Magnolia and I just love it's simplicity.  I used cs by both SU and Bazzill.  The flower is from WOC and I speckled it with stardust Stickles.  Both the ribbon and pearls are from my stash.  The pearls started out white and I colored them with Copic marker R24.

I added this photo so you could see a little sneaky peek of the butterflies on the inside of the card.  They are part of the #424 Dots and Butterflies stamp and are currently on pre-order at Magnolia-licious.  I cut apart the stamp so that I would only get the butterflies.  I actually cut them out individually so that I can place them wherever I want, in combination or alone.

I colored the wheelbarrow with Copic markers.  Here are the details:

wheelbarrow - E50, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, W1, 3
wheel - W1, 3, 5, 7
flowers - R20, 22, Y11
leaves/grass - YG0000, 03, 91, 95, 97
background - B0000

Tilda and Her Bunny
I love this image so much that I couldn't wait to color her up again.  This time I gave her a really bright outfit for Spring.  This stamp is #363 Tilda and Her Bunny and I paired her with #618 Picnic Quilt.  I've also included the Happy Easter sentiment once again.

I chose to work with some new BG dp's and they're from the 'Hello Luscious' collection.  Cs is from both SU and Bazzill.  The ribbon is also SU.  The lace was in one of my ribbon drawers and I think it's from WOC.  I doubled it up on the card and ran the ribbon down the center to hide the seam.  All of the flowers, of course, are from WOC.  I cut the image with a SB nestie.

These images were both painted with a combo of Copic markers and watercolor with Ranger DI's.  Here are the details:

Copics:
skin - E0000, 00, 02, 11, R20, RV21
hair - E41, 42, 43, 44
bunny - W00, 1, 3

DI's:
worn lipstick, fired brick, rusty hinge, peeled paint, vintage photo, scattered straw, weathered wood, tumbled glass, shabby shutters, black soot, forest moss, walnut stain, antique linen

Well.....that's it for me today.  I hope you'll leave me a little comment to let me know you were here!  Next up is Tracy from the Challenge DT.  She's very talented and she's got something wonderful in store for you :-)

Ciao,

Angie

Fixing Mistakes...

The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make one. ~Elbert Hubbard, The Note Book, 1927

Hi Everyone!!!  I was looking back at my recently posted cards yesterday and I couldn't believe my eyes!  Something didn't look right when I took another look at my LOTV 'Back to School Girl'.  I colored her satchel the same color as her uniform!!!!!!  How in the world did I see that there was a shoulder strap, but completely missed the satchel?  I wish I could say that I did this on purpose, as a way to show how to fix a mistake.  But, it truly was a mistake :-(

However, I do want to take this opportunity to show you how I fixed it.  I've had to fix many mistakes along the way, but I usually catch them before I post my cards to show everyone - LOL!  Anyway, my first thought was to grab the same Copic colors that I used on the shoulder strap.  I had no idea how or if it would cover the turquoise. When I tried it, it looked like a very swampy green color.  So I tried some darker colors and it worked beautifully.  She now has a brown satchel to match the shoulder strap!  Yay!  And, she no longer looks as wide as a bus :-)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Tilda with Flowing Hair...

I have 2 posts for you.  Please make sure to scroll down to the next post to see my LOTV GDT card!

Happy St. Patty's Day Everyone!!!  Now, I'm sure you noticed already that my post isn't covered in green to celebrate the big day.  Sorry about that!  But, I'm Italian and Polish, without an ounce of Irish, so I'm going forward as usual and color coordinating with my card :-)  Anyway, I want to remind everyone about the Magnolia-licious Easter/Spring Extravaganza Contest!  The Magnolia-licious DT and Challenge DT have an awesome blog hop planned for Monday March 21st and you won't want to miss it!!!  We're going to have an awesome mix of projects to inspire you to join in on one or more of the three contest categories.  I hope to see you here on Monday!  You can get all of the details of the contest over at the Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog

PaperPlay Challenges DT

Welcome to another PaperPlay DT Challenge.  This week it's Team A's turn with an 'embossing' challenge and I got to pull out my long lost embossing folders.  You can too if you'd like to play along.  We would love to see how creative you can be with those 'ol folders.  So hop on over to the PaperPlay Challenges blog to see all of the DT samples so you can get inspired to join in!

Tilda with Flowing Hair

I decided to ink up #3044 Tilda with Flowing Hair for this challenge.  I had forgotten that I had this image and I was so excited to find her.  She is currently available over at Magnolia-licious so head on over and get yours ordered!  She's from the 'Hoppy Easter' collection and she's so versatile.  I've paired her with #405 Tulip Walkway, which is my new favorite background image.

The dp's are new from JilliBean and I JUST LOVE THEM!  Brown is my absolute favorite color and when paired with orange and yellow it's just that much more gorgeous!  I used a Sizzix embossing folder on the yellow cs from SU.  It frames the scene beautifully, don't you think?  All flowers are from WOC.  The ribbon is from my stash.  I added some flower soft to the basket of flowers for a little added texture.

Both images are colored with a combo of Copic markers and watercolor with Ranger DI's.  Here are the details:

Copics -
skin: E000, 00, 11, 31, R20, RV21
hair: E41, 42, 43, 44

DI's -
fired brick, dried marigold, spiced marmalade, scattered straw, shabby shutters, black soot, weathered wood, peeled paint, forest moss, tumbled glass, stormy sky, pine needles, antique linen, walnut stain, vintage photo

I hope you'll leave me a little comment to let me know you were here :-)  Please be sure to scroll down to the next post to see my LOTV GDT card!

A Gift For You...

LOTV's Challenge Blog GDT

Hi Again!  Well, this is my last week as Guest Designer for LOTV's Challenge Blog.  I've had a wonderful time!!!  This week's challenge is a sketch and I had a ton of fun with it.  You can get all of the challenge details on the blog and find out how to enter your own project.

A Gift For You

This week I chose to work with a stamp that I just purchased.  This image is called 'Back to School Girl' and she's just darling!  I also got the 'Back to School Boy' and I'll be inking him up as soon as I find a moment.  I love these images.  Not only are they great for the Fall when kids go back to school, but they're great for the end of the school year as well when you want to give a teacher a little 'thank you' gift.

When you look over at the sketch, you may wonder what in the world I was thinking when I put my card together. I had colored the image prior to checking out the sketch and was a little bummed when I realized that the sketch showed a circle in the middle. Well, the image I chose wasn't going to work well in a circle, so I decided to use a rectangle.  I started turning the sketch in different directions so see how best I could arrange things.  Somehow, I combined two different directions of the sketch into one and I didn't realize it until it was complete.  But, I love how it turned out and I had run out of time.  So, I hope you don't mind that I didn't stick to the sketch to well.  Sorry!

I paired this image with new dp's from My Mind's Eye called 'Hattie'.  I bought all of their new 6x6 paper pads and love them all.  Cs is from both SU and Bazzill.  The buttons were in my button drawer.  The jute is also from my stash.  The gorgeous black lace is from WOC.  A while back I bought a bunch of sentiments from Amuse Art Stamps and this is one of them.  I love how short and to-the-point they are.

This little sweetheart is colored with Copic markers.  Here are the details:

skin - E0000, 000, 00, 31, R20
hair - E31, 41, 47, 50, 57, Y21
uniform - BG10, 11, 13, C1, 3
shoes - E40, 41, 47, 57
shadows - B0000, N1

That's it for today!  Thank you so much for stopping by :-)  I hope you'll leave me a little comment to let me know that you were here.  I always enjoy reading them!

Tilda with Hanging Rabbit...

Happy Sunday Night Everyone!!!  I've had an extremely busy weekend and I'm so looking forward to some relaxing craft time during this next week.  Yesterday we had a birthday party to attend and I spent the better part of today calculating commissions for our salespeople.  OMG what a task that is!  One of these days I need to get better organized, or maybe I'll just have to hire that bookkeeper!

Stamp With Fun GDT

Today is my last day as Guest Designer for Stamp With Fun.  I have really enjoyed myself.  This week we were challenged with a wonderful sketch.  There are many layers so it was tons of fun.  I absolutely love layers!!!  Make sure to pop on over to the Stamp With Fun challenge blog to see all of the DT cards.  They will definitely inspire you to make your own project and join in on the fun :-)

Tilda with Hanging Rabbit
This little darling is #252 Tilda with Hanging Rabbit and she's from Magnolia's Butterfly Dreams collection.  I just love this little darling!  That bunny is the sweetest little thing!  I've paired this little Tilda with two digis from Make It Crafty: Petals and Palings, and The Ivy Swing.  If you look at the images on their site, you'll see that I didn't color the flowers on the swing.  I wanted it to look like ivy so I colored them to look more like leaves.  I hope they don't mind!  The dp's are from K&Co's new 'Julianne' collection.  I just love this 6x6 paper pad!  It's more than 1 inch thick and there are so many gorgeous patterns to choose from.  Cs is by both SU and Bazzill.  The twine, flower buttons, and pearls are from my stash.  The pearls started out an ivory color and I changed that with my Copic marker Y21.  Now they match the buttons!  Yay Copics!!!

The images were colored 100% with Copic markers.  Here are the details:

Dress - RV91, 93, 95, N3, N5
Skin - E0000, E000, E00, E11, E21, E31, R20, RV21
Hair - E42, E43, E44, E50
Tree/Swing - E40, E42, E43, E44, E50
Flowers - R30, Y08, Y11
Sky - B0000
Birds - B21, B60
Grass/Leaves - E40, YG61, YG91, YG97
Bunny - E40, W1
Shadows - W00, W1, W3, W5
Pearls - Y21

Well, I think that's everything!  I had a wonderful time making this card.  I hope you enjoyed it as well.  Thanks so much for stopping by :-)

I've also got a card to share with you today.  I made this card several weeks ago and waited to post it until after I gave it to my bestest friend, Racquel, for her birthday.  We've been friends for well over 20 years and she means the world to me.  We met today for her birthday lunch and did a little shopping.  She was looking for a spring trench coat and, even though I wasn't in the market for one, we both ended up purchasing the same one!  No surprise, we've done that kinda thing for years :-)

Anyway, I hope you enjoy my card.  I really enjoyed making it and I'm just thrilled with how it turned out.  Here goes....

Tilda with Heart Lace

This little sweetie is #3050 Tilda with Heart Lace from Magnolia's 'You Are So Special' collection.  She's currently in stock over at Magnolia-licious so hop on over and get yours!  I looked all over for the little sheet of paper that has the details of this card and it's nowhere to be found.  That's what I get for waiting to post it!!!  I do know that I colored her with Copic markers.  The flowers are all from WOC and the sentiments are from Verve Stamps.  The rest is a mystery at this point.  I've got several photos so you can see the card from all angles...inside and out.

That's it for today!  Thank you so much for stopping by.  Don't forget to mark your calendars for the Magnolia-licious Blog Hop on March 21st!  You won't want to miss it.  And, be sure to get started on your projects for the contest!!!

Dandelion Clock...

Lili of the Valley Challenge - GDT

Hey Everbody!   Today is my third week as Guest Designer for Lily of the Valley Challenges.  I've been having so much fun and can't believe there is only one more week to go.  Boy how time flies when you're having a blast!

This week's LOTV Challenge is: Say it with flowers.  I was so excited to do this challenge because I wanted to use my favorite image from one of the newer releases.  I really hope you enjoy my card and...don't forget to pop on over to the LOTV Challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT has to show you!

Dandelion Clock

This adorable image from LOTV is called 'Dandelion Clock' and she's just precious.  I've had her for several weeks and have been way too busy to ink her up.  This was the perfect time!

The dp's are new from K&Co's 'Sweet Nectar' 6x6 paper pad (Michaels carries them now and you can use a coupon...Yay!)  The colors are so vibrant...I just love them.  All of the flowers were a gift from my good friend Mindy - thank you Mindy!!!  I absolutely love the 2-tone flower and it was my very last one :-(  I made the doily using a new die from Die-Namics - love them!!!  Ribbon is from my stash and the yellow pearls are from Hero Arts.  Cs is both Bazzill and SU.  I applied some stardust Stickles to all of the flowers.

I colored this little darling primarily with Copics and then added the shadows and background using watercolor with DI's.  Here are the color details:

skin - E000, 00, 11
hair - E50, 42, 43, 44
clothes - R20, 22, 24, YG21, 23
wings & flowers - R81, 83, Y11, 21

DI's - weathered wood, tumbled glass, peeled paint, forest moss, shabby shutters, walnut stain

That's all I have for today.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  I hope you'll leave me a little note to let me know that you were here :-)

Tilda in Butterfly Dress...

Hey Everyone!!!  I've got a quick post for you.  I mentioned the other day that I hosted my first ever 'Monthly Card Class' in my home on Saturday.  Some of the ladies colored with Copics and others painted with watercolor and DI's.  We all had a really great time!  I'd like to show you the card that I designed for the class.

Tilda with Butterfly Dress
This gorgeous little darling is #250 Tilda with Butterfly Dress.  She's currently on re-order over at Magnolia-licious so keep checking back.  The awesome sentiment is new from Whimsy Stamps.

I cut all of the paper last week and cleaned everything up so I have no idea of the manufacturer of the dp's.  Sorry!  All cs is Bazzill.  The flowers are from WOC.  The polka dot ribbon is by America Crafts.

The image is colored entirely with watercolor and Ranger DI's.  Here are the colors I used as close as I can remember:

tea dye, tattered rose, antique linen, vintage photo, walnut stain, black soot, stormy sky, weathered wood, tumbled glass, scattered straw, peeled paint, forest moss, shabby shutters

That's it for today.  Thank you so much for stopping by!  I hope you'll leave me a little note to let me know you were here :-)

Hawaii Flower...

Hi Everyone!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!!  Ours was busy, but a ton of fun :-)  One of the highlights was the first ever 'Monthly Card Class' that I put on Saturday.  There were nine ladies, plus myself, and we had a really good time.  I'll show you the card that I designed later this week.

Stamp with Fun GDT

A few weeks ago, Ramona from Stamp with Fun contacted me and asked if I would be interested in being a Guest Designer for a couple of weeks.  So, here I am!  The challenge this week is 'Monochrome blue' and it definitely was a challenge for me.  If you know my work, then you know that I really like a lot of constrasting colors on my projects.  This theme definitely gave me something to think about.  Here's my card.  I'm really pleased with how it turned out.  I hope you like it too :-)

Tilda with Hawaii Flower
The first thing I selected was the image.  I really wanted to ink up one of my new stamps from Magnolia's 'Butterfly Dreams' collection and 'Tilda with Hawaii Flower' was the perfect choice.  She will be back in stock over at Magnolia-licious as soon as the collection is officially released...so keep checking!

I bought some of the new K&Co 6x6 paper pads from Michaels and they are perfect for this monochrome blue theme.  The pad I used is called 'Julianne' and the designs are gorgeous!  I've matted all dp's with Bazzill cs.  The blue ribbon is some really inexpensive and thin ribbon that I've had for years and it just happened to work perfectly with this card.  The gems were clear and I colored them with a Copic marker to match...love it!

All flowers are from WOC.  I've had the really deep blue ones for quite awhile and have tried to use them on many occasions but they were always too dark.  I think they're absolutely perfect for this arrangement.  The leaves were cut using a new MS border punch.  The blue cs stock trim was also cut with a MS border punch.  Both the image and it's matte were cut with SB Nesties.  I've finished the interior of the card to match the front and left plenty of room for a personal message.  I almost forgot to mention....I colored this image with a combo of Copics and watercolor with DI's.

I've heard from a few people now asking about the colors that I use on my cards and why I stopped posting the details.  To be honest, I didn't think people were really paying attention to it anyway.  Well, I was wrong and I apologize for that :-)  I will make a point to be more careful and jot down the colors that I use prior to clean up so that I can pass along the info to you.  Unfortunately, that will have to begin with the next card!

That's it for today!  I hope you'll pop on over the the Stamp with Fun challenge blog to see all that's going on over there.  They've got a showcase of their DT cards and they're really gorgeous!  I do hope you'll join in on the challenge.  The theme was a lot of fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Celebrating You!

Hi Everyone!!!  What a FABULOUS day it is today!  It's still Wednesday here in the States but it's already Thursday overseas.  Hope you're all having a great week so far. The weekend is almost here so try and hold out for one more day! I've been busy as usual. No great mystery there. I'm having a ton of fun though. I love being involved in many projects at one time. It makes life just a little more interesting for me. I've never been one to sit and watch television during the day. Now nighttime...that's a different story. I'm usually so worn out from the day that I look forward to lying on the couch and watching a couple shows before heading up to bed.  Anyway...

I've got two projects to show you today and I absolutely love both of them. I'm going to keep the chit chat to a minimum, so let's move on to the reason we're here.

Lili of the Valley Challenge Blog GDT
As you may know, Lili of the Valley has a new release coming out on March 9th and the DT is showing some sneaky peaks of what's to come.  I have the privilege of being a Guest Designer for a few weeks and I'm so thrilled to show you a little peak at these adorable little bears.  The image is titled 'Birthday Bumps' and it is the sweetest!!!  I so enjoyed painting this image with DI's.  These little bears remind me of the story of 'five little monkeys' that I used to read to my son when he was a toddler.  It brought back some wonderful memories :-)

This week, the challenge over at LOTV's Challenge Blog is a sketch.  It was a ton of fun to work with too!  I turned it on its side because the image that I chose to work with fit better in a horizontal oval.  Anyway, I hope you'll head on over there to see how you can enter to win!

I selected dp's from BG's 'Bittersweet' collection and I think they fit perfectly with the image.  All cs is by Bazzill - my favorite...just love the texture.  I cut the image, its background, and the dp/cs with SB Nesties.

The pink roses are from WOC and were a gift from my sweetheart of a friend Mindy... thanks Mindy!  I gave them a little coating of stardust Stickles.  The lace is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I punched the leaves with a MS punch.  Lastly, the sentiment is from Verve Stamps.

That's it for this project.  I truly hope you enjoyed it.  I also hope you'll take a little moment to leave a comment and let me know what you think and that you stopped by :-)

Don't forget to scroll down to the next post to see my second project for today!  It's another little sneakie peak!!!

Angie

'Shabby Chic'

Hey there everyone!!!  Here's my second project for the day.  I don't do this theme too often, but I'm thrilled with the way it turned out.  I hope you enjoy it :-)

PaperPlay Challenges DT

This week, the PaperPlay Challenges DT was asked to create something with a 'Shabby Chic' or 'Vintage' feel.  You can get all of the details over at the PaperPlay Challenges Blog.  I hope you'll take a moment to swing by there to see how you can play along.  There is a great prize for the lucky winner!

I chose to work with my favorite subject.......Tilda!  I hope you enjoy my card :-)

'Shabby Chic' Tilda
This image is part of Magnolia's most recent kit and the name has not yet been released.  I would imagine that it'll be out soon though!

I cut the image with a SB circle die and then outlined it with pieces from a border that I punched with a MS punch.  I cut the border into pieces and then secured them individually behind the image in a circle to create the lace-like border.  The dp's are from Webster's Pages and cs is by Bazzill.  I found the beige lace at Really Reasonable Ribbon and trimmed the end's of it with brads from American Crafts.

The black organza ribbon is from my stash.  I decorated the bow with some flowers from WOC.  The image was painted using a combo of Copic markers and watercolor with Ranger DI's.  The inside of the card is decorated to compliment the cover.

That's all I have for today!  Thanks so much for stopping by :-)  I would love for you to leave a little comment to let me know what you think of my project.  Don't forget to pop on over to the PaperPlay Challenges Blog to get the details of how you can play along.  I can't wait to see your creations!

Who Framed Tilda???

Magnolia-licious DT Recipe Challenge

Hello Everyone!!!  Welcome to another Magnolia-licious DT challenge!  This time Janiel came up with a recipe for us to follow:

Frame It:  must use at least one of EACH of the items below on your project:

1. Magnolia image
2. trim or ribbon
3. flower
4. pearls or bling

You can get all of the details of the challenge and prize over at the Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog.  I hope you'll all find some time to create something and enter the contest.  I can't wait to see what you come up with!!!

I have to be honest, this idea was intially not an easy one for me.  My first thought was to alter a frame, but I have a really hard time with that for some reason.  There isn't always enough real estate on a frame for me to embellish.  Then, it came to me!  I decided to make use of a Spellbinder's Frame die that has been sitting unused for what seems like forever.  Here's how it turned out.   I hope you like it!!!

Tilda's Been Framed!
This sweet lil' darling is #275 Tilda with Lace Jeans and she's from Magnolia's new 'Butterfly Dreams' collection.  I paired her with #405 Tulip Walkway, which is from the same collection.  Both are available at Magnolia-licious so head on over and get yours!  I just love the pairing of these two images.  It looks as if Tilda was just bending over to smell the flowers!  Nothing screams Spring like the smell of fresh flowers!!!

The dp's are actually scraps from an earlier project and I have no idea who the manufacturer is.  The white paper lace is from Magnolia.  I used 2 MS punches for the bright pink lace background and the leaves for the flowers.  All of the flowers are from WOC.  The pink silk ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Almost forgot...all of the flowers got a bit of stardust Stickles.

Per usual, this lil' sweetie is colored with a combo of Copic markers and watercolor with Ranger DI's.  No details...I was in a hurry and cleaned up before I wrote them down...sorry :-(

That's it for today!  Thank you so much for stopping by.  I hope you'll take the time to pop on over to the other DT blogs to see how they met the challenge.  Don't forget to stop by the Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog to see how you can enter the challenge!

Ciao,

Angie
