Valentine's Day...and CANDY!!!

Hi Everyone!  I'm back today with a really quick showing.  A couple months ago, Diana asked me if I would make a Valentine's Day card for advertisement.  I was thrilled to be asked and more than happy to oblige.  This card is currently in the Magnolia Ink "Will You Be My Valentine?" issue on page 72, advertising Magnolia-licious and Magnolia Mini World.  At the end of this post, I'll be giving away a little something so stay tuned!

Valentine's Day
Because I made this card and tag so long ago, I don't remember the details of all of the products that I used.  I do know that this is 'Tilda with Hearts' and she's standing in front of #428 Tree with Carved Heart.  I think the mini image is called 'Tilda with Roses'.

I colored these images with both Copic markers and watercolor with Ranger Distress Inks.  I could guess at the colors, but without knowing for sure, I'd rather not list anything so as not to mislead.

Well, it wouldn't be right to show you a project that advertises Valentine's Day without giving away a little Valentine's Day CANDY!  I just happen to have ONE EXTRA COPY of the current issue of Magnolia Ink "Will You Be My Valentine" and it's up for grabs.

THIS CANDY IS CLOSED
Simple Rules to be in the running...
1. Follow me (if you're not a Follower already)
2. Put this CANDY on the sidebar of your blog
3. Leave a comment WITH YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS on this post only

You have until midnight EST January 26th, 2011 to enter to win.

That's it!  I'll let random.org pick the winner and I'll announce it on January 27th, 2011 before I leave for CHA.

Thank you so much for visiting today!  I hope you enjoyed your visit :-)

2011 Calendar Blog Hop...

Magnolia-licious DT Blog Hop

Hi Everyone!!!!   I so hope you're having a terrific day!  The Magnolia-licious DT has got a FANTASTIC show for you today.  We've got the most wonderful blog hop for you to follow and you can get the details at the Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog.  If you've come to my blog from Janiel's fab works, then you're on the right track.  If not, then make your way over the Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog to start from the beginning.  I'm certain you're going to be filled with a year's worth of inspiration when you see what we've all created.

As you may already know, Christmas has just passed.  The girls on the DT wanted to make extra special Christmas gift for the best boss in the world, Diana Crick.  We all absolutely adore her and thought it would be great to make something for her that would give her an entire year of joy.  The idea of the calendar was born.  We're here today to share it with you.

I made two pages for the calendar.  One for March and one for December.  Both chilly, winter months here in Michgan...so I went with that.  You'll see no sunshine on my pages, but hopefully they'll be cool and fun.

March - In like a lion...out like a lamb

When you're a kid, what is more fun on a snowy winter day than sledding down a hill at super speed?  Nothing my friend!  For that reason, I chose #147 Edwin on Sled for this page.  He's just zippin' down the hill as fast as he can and having a blast!  I colored him with a combo of Copic markers and watercolor with DI's, as usual.  I don't remember all of the details about the dp's and embellies, but I do know that the large snowflake was once a tree ornament and the sentiment was laser printed by me.  The rest will have to remain a mystery because I put all of my Christmas stuff away and I didn't keep track of the markers and inks that I used.  Sorry!

Next up...

Christmas Eve in Paris
Looks like we got a shot of Santa taking a moments break on Christmas Eve in Paris!  Wouldn't it be a dream to be in Paris on Christmas Eve???  Well, for those of use that don't live there anyway :-)  This is #127 Cool Santa, paired with #542 Eiffel Tower and the lamp post from Magnolia's #5 Paris Night DooHickey Die.  The dp's are BG "Jovial".  I remember that because they were my favorite dp's for the holiday season.  For that reason, I wanted to use them for Diana's calendar page.  Only the best for Diana!  The images were colored with Copic markers and watercolor with DI's...no details...sorry!  I know I used stardust Stickles all over the place to make it look like it's snowing.

Well, that's it for today!  I truly hope you had a good time viewing my project.  The next stop on the hop is Suzanne and she has a page that is absolutely stunning!  Have fun!

I Treasure Your Friendship...

Happy Tuesday Everyone!!!  I've got another Lili of the Valley card today.  Their new stamps were finally released last night at 7pm EST and I tried and tried until 8:05pm to get my purchase to go through.  They must have had zillions of people on their site last night trying to purchase the stamps because the server was way overloaded.  Finally, I got all of the stamps that I wanted...Yippie!  WooHoo!

Right now I've got a card for the LOTV sketch challenge that's going on right now.  I'm also entering it in the Cute Card Thursday challenge, which is 'Out with the old', and Paper Sundaes challenge which is 'Circles'.  I hope you enjoy it!

I Treasure Your Friendship

This sweet image is called 'Me and My Cat' and it's from Lili of the Valley.  I love cats, but I don't have one.  I had one when I was a child and this image makes me think of her.  Although, mine wasn't as friendly as this one!  Anyway, the gorgeous dp's are from the 'Jack n' Jill' collection from Prima.  The cs is by SU and I've had it for several years.

I pulled out some really old Prima flowers that I've had laying around forever.  Those gorgeous soft pink brads are by American Crafts and I've had them for years too.  The roses are from WOC and I think I got them from my friend Mindy.  That sweet sentiment is also old and never inked before this card.  It's from A Muse Art Stamps.  The pearls and little lace heart were sitting in one of my embelly drawers.  Not sure how long I've had them.

I used an old Cuttlebug 'Vintage' die for the corner pieces.  The sentiment ends were cut with an EK Success corner rounder and 1/2 circle punch.  I coated the flowers with stardust Stickles.  The white, lacy, scalloped paper is from the Magnolia shop in Boras, Sweden.

I colored this image with Copic markers.  Here are the details:

E000, 00, 11, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 47, 50, 53, 55, W00, 1, 3, 7, R0000, 20, RV11, 14

That's it for today!  Thank you so much for stopping by.  I hope you get your hands on some of the new LOTV images before they sell out!

Valentine's Day...

Hi Everyone!  I hope you're having a wonderful weekend and got well rested for the coming week.  I spent just about every minute in my craft room working on things for CHA and some other cards to show you here.  My hubby is back from his business trip and spent all afternoon yesterday with our son.  They went to a movie, built puzzles, etc.  It was a really great day for the two of them...and for me.  I just love being in my craft room.  Somehow, the smell of paper is very soothing to me.  Seriously!  Sometimes, as I walk down the hall, I pop my head in the door and take a deep breath.  It actually calms me.  Sounds crazy, but it's true.

Anyway, I've been working a lot with the stamps from Mini Magnolia World and needed a change.  I looked over on the left of my desk and, underneath a bunch of stuff, I could see the corner of my Magnolia winter kit.  Ding, ding, ding!!!  Light bulb!  I was suddenly inspired to make a Valentine's Day card with one of the uninked images from the kit.  Here's how it turned out...

Valentine's Day
Isn't this little chickie adorable!!!  I have no idea what this stamp is called or when it will be available for purchase, but it was a part of Magnolia's Winter Kit.  I've paired her with #650 Spring Fence and I think it's a very sweet scene.  I don't see the fence in the Magnolia-licious store right now, but you could also use #642 Heart Fence or #501 Shabby Chic Fence in it's place.

The dp's are from the new MME 'State of the Heart' collection.  I love the deep, muted red with the worn out ivory.  It has such a warm, rich feel to it.  Cs is both Bazzill and SU.  The brown Bazzill is actually called 'Java' and it's my absolute favorite shade to use.  It's a deep, dark chocolate with a hint of grey and works beautifully with any worn, antique, or aged feel that you want to create.  I keep a large inventory of this color.  I used a bunch of different Spellibinder's Nestabilities to create this card.  I also pulled out an old Cuttlebug embossing folder called 'Floral Fantasy' to create the texture on the main heart.

The ribbon started out as ivory seam binding and I dyed it to give it a rustic, worn feel.  It's a technique that I learned from Bev's blog and it's one that I will use over and over.  Great idea Bev!  I finished the bow with some threaded buttons from my button drawer that I've had forever.  The shiny hearts and pearl were part of a not so attractive grouping that I got at Michael's.  I broke it down and used the pieces that I liked and I love the way it turned out.  I stapled them into place with my Tim Holtz mini stapler (love that thing) and they will stay in place forever!  The little pearls framing the image and sentiment are from my stash...again something I've had forever.  The sentiment is from Archiver's.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Here's a closeup of Tilda.  As usual, I colored her with a combo of Copic markers and watercolor with Ranger Distress Inks.  Here are the details:

Copics: E000, 00, 11, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 50, R20, RV21, W1, 3

DI's: brick red, walnut stain, black soot, worn lipstick, forest moss, shabby shutters, weathered wood, tumbled glass

That's it for today!  I hope you enjoyed your visit and will come back again soon :-)

Love...

Hey There Everyone!!!  Crazy busy week so far!  Hubby is working tons of hours so I'm playing 'single Mom' this week and I don't know how all you 'single Moms' do it!  I've been going 100 mph since 6:30 a.m., killed myself at my spin class this evening to get rid of some stress, got my son to bed, and now I'm finally sitting down to say 'hi' to ya'll.  Hi!

I really needed a break from what I was working on earlier today and I had another LOTV image colored from the other day, so I decided to assemble a card with it.  Shocking huh?  Have image...make card!  I remembered seeing a sketch that I liked on the Wild Orchid Challenges blog, so that's the route I took.  I'm going to enter the card into some other challenges too and I'll give a list below.  I think I'm going a bit crazy on the 'challenges' thing, but I'm really enjoying it :-)

Challenges:

Wild Orchid Challenges - sketch
LOTV - new beginnings
Stamp Something - glitter
Papertake Weekly - anything goes
Fab'n' Funky Challenges - anything goes

Here's my card...

Love
This sweet image is Lili of the Valley's 'On the Garden Wall'.  Doesn't it make you remember the first boy you liked when you were a little girl?  As mentioned, the layout follows the Wild Orchid Challenges sketch and it was a ton of fun to work with.  The dp's are from a brand new 6x6 paper pad from BoBunny called 'Crush'.  I actually used a whole bunch of new things on this card:  Spellbinder's dies - Large Octagons and Classic Heart; the stamp itself was new; and a new MS punch for the black paper lace.  The roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The adorable love potion bottle is by Making Memories and I filled it with some colored water - I'm hoping it won't somehow ruin my card if it leaks!  Ahhh!  The gems are from my stash and I colored them with a Copic marker.  Finally, I added stardust Stickles for some 'bling'.

I colored this image with a combination of Copic markers and watercolor with Ranger Distress Inks.  I can't find the little note where I marked the details so I don't have them for you - so sorry!

That's it for today.  I hope you're having a wonderful 2011 so far!  It's the beginning, so it promises everything.  Decide what you want and make it happen.  And try to have fun in the process :-)

Friends Always...

Back again everyone!  My son goes back to school on Monday so I've really gotta get down to business.  I've got tons to do for CHA in Los Angelos at the end of the month.  I've also got a ton of accounting to do :-(  I'm most excited about CHA though.  I'll be painting at the Magnolia-licious booth to show off the Magnolia Mini World stamps.  It's gonna be a blast!  I've also never been to California so that's a bit exciting for me.  I wish my son and hubby could go too, but I'm gonna be so busy there that I wouldn't even get to see them.

This is my second card today.  Be sure to scroll down to see my Magnolia-licious DT challenge post!  I've really been enjoying the Lili of the Valley stamps that I purchased over the summer.  I bought them, got really busy and forgot all about them.  I've also been enjoying entering challenges again.  I don't really know why I stopped.  I think I just got too busy to even think about it.  The LOTV Challenge Blog has a new challenge theme of 'New Beginnings'.  Your project has to incorporate something 'New'.  It can be a new baby, new relationship, new product, new technique, etc.

My card incorporates the following 'New' things:

       NEW LOTV stamp
NEW MS Punch Around the Page
NEW Spellbinder's Shapabilities 'Ribbon Tag Trio 2' die
NEW BasicGrey "Oliver" 6x6 paper pad
       NEW sentiment stamps

Here's my card...I hope you enjoy it :-)

Friends Always

I love this image so much because it reminds me of my son.  He would be on the left, having cookies and sharing pink lemonade with his friend.  I haven't made a 'boy' card in so long and I really enjoyed this one.  My son gets the silliest smile on his face when he looks at it.  I told him that I thought of him the entire time that I worked on the card.

As you can see, this is an easel card...something else that I haven't done in a while.  The border around the cover was punched with a new MS Punch Around the Page.  After removing the punches from the packaging, I never again know their name...sorry!  I chose new BG "Oliver" dp's.  All cs is by Stampin' Up!  The sentiment on the cover is by A Muse Artstamps.  I stamped it and cut it into a rectangle.  Then used a small MS circle punch to take a chunk out of one side.  The sentiment on the inside is by Stampin' Up! and it was cut with a new Spellbinder's Shapabilities 'Ribbon Tag Trio 2' die.  Technically, the sentiments are both new because I've never inked them up before!  The large grosgrain ribbon is by Bazzill Basics.  All buttons were in my button drawer.  I used to collect buttons so I have a ton to choose from.  These happened to match the dp's perfectly.  All I had to do was thread them with some string.  The brad on the cover sentiment was also from my stash.

Here's a side view just so you can see the dimension of the card and embellies.

I colored this image with a combo of Copic markers and Ranger distress inks.  Here are the details:

Copics:  E000, 00, 02, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 50, R20, 11, RV11, B02, G99, YR68, YG91, 97, C1, 3, 5, W1, 3, 5

DI's:  fired brick, walnut stain, scattered straw, shabby shutters, forest moss, peeled paint, weathered wood, tumbled glass

I'm also entering this card in the My Time To Craft Challenge - Brand Spanking New and Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings.  They have the same kind of challenges going on!  RRR asked for something new plus ribbon.  I've got lots of new stuff going on all over this card as mentioned earlier :-)

That's all I have for today!  I truly hope you enjoyed your visit.  I'd love it if you left a comment to let me know that you were here and what you think of my project.  Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Angie

4+U...

Magnolia-licious DT Challenge

Happy New Year Everyone!  It's time for another Magnolia-licious DT challenge!!!  This time it was Cheryl's turn to choose the challenge and she decided on a recipe:

4 flowers
3 dp's
2 Magnolia images
1 ribbon

Oh what fun!  I love the challenge of working within specific parameters.  It makes it just a little more interesting.  The Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog has the details of how you can join in on the fun.  And, there will be a prize awarded to one lucky person.  I can't wait to see what you come up with!!!

Here's my card...

4+U

This little cutie pie is #383 Mini Oops Tilda.  Now, I don't use the word 'darling' very often, but...isn't she just???  I paired her with #628 Mini Kitchen.  When I saw that we were doing a project with a 'recipe', I just knew that I had to use something from the 'Yummy For Your Tummy' collection.  Both stamps are currently in stock over at Magnolia-licious so head on over to get yours!

With a kitchen theme, I had no choice but to use dp's from BG's 'Nook and Pantry' collection.  Cs is by both Bazzill and SU.  The layout that I used is actually from last week's Friday Sketcher's challenge.  I knew I wouldn't post in time for the challenge, but I liked the sketch so I decided to use it.  The image and it's background were cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities.  I used a MS border punch for some added interest under one of the dp layers.  All flowers were sent to me by my friend and DT sister, Mindy.  Thank you Mindy!!!  I LOVE THE POPPIES!!!  They're one of my most favorite flowers ever!!!  The sentiment is by Whimsy Stamps.  I grabbed the ribbon and brads from my stash.  I hope it's ok that I added the brads.  I know it's not part of the recipe but the corners were screaming for them!  For some bling bling, I added stardust and cinnamon Stickles all over the place.

The images were colored with a combo of Copic markers and watercolor with Ranger DI's.  Here are the details:

Copics: E000, 00, 02, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, R20, RV21, W00, 1, 3, 5

DI's: walnut stain, antique linen, vintage photo, scattered straw, barn door, peeled paint, black soot

Challenges I've entered with this card:
Just Magnolia & hAnglar stAnglar - Anything Goes
Magnolia Down Under Challenges - A Gift For You
          Stamp Something - Glitter
7 Kids College Fund Challenge Blog - Anything Goes

Thank you all for stopping by.  I truly hope you enjoyed your visit.  If you haven't already, I hope you'll stop by the other DT girls blogs.  You can find links to them on my 'Design Teams' page or by visiting the Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog.  I know they all have something fantabulous to show you!!!
