And Now.....Drum Roll Please............

Girls just wanna have fun!
I can't even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed making this card!  It's one of my favorites in a very long time.  Shortly after selecting this 'Science 101' image for the LD release, I saw the new MIC release and just knew that I was going to use this 'Steampunk House' together with 'Science 101'.  For some reason, against everything that I usually do when it comes to coloring, I grabbed pink!  It's sooooooooo not my usual syle, but I wanted the house to be pink.  I still can't explain it!  I'll give the color details below.

The dp's are from the Basic Grey 'Olivia' collection and I'm nearly finished with the paper pad now.  Cs is a combo of SU and Bazzill.  The sweet little flowers are from WOC.  That understated blue ribbon is from SU.  I got the awesome sentiment from Bonnie at Art Impressions at CHA in Rosemont.  They were so sweet.  I still can't believe all of the stamps that they gave me at the end of show.  Thank you so very much!!!

Both images were colored with Copic markers.  Here are the details:

E000, 00, 02, 11, 13, 30, 41, 42, 43, 44, 50, 53, Y15, 21, B0000, 00, 01, 21, 23, R20, 30, RV00, 02, 04, YG21, 23, 35, N0, 1, 3, 5, C00, 1, 3, W00, 1, 3, 5

Well, that's it for me today and it's also the end of the Hop!  Thank you so very much for joining us today.  Don't forget to leave a comment to be entered for my Candy!!!

Lastly, don't forget the new Little Darlings 'Back To School' stamps are NOW available at Love To Stamp.!!!

Little Darlings Challenges

So...what is goin' on today???  Well, we've got a new challenge starting today over at Little Darlings Challenges!  The theme this time is 'Buttons and Brads'.  You can use any stamp to enter the challenge, but, if you use a Little Darlings stamp as the main image on your project, the prize is doubled!

Here's my card:

Nice To Meet You

I chose to work with 'Nice To Meet You', which is currently available at Love To Stamp.  He's paired with dp's from Crate Paper's 'Toy Box' collection.  I just LOOOOOVE this paper pad!  It is absolutely fantastic for all of your 'boy' projects.  I've used nearly every paper in the pad and probably only have enough for one more card : (  If you head on over to Love To Stamp to check them out, take a look at the rest of the Crate Paper pads because they're just wonderful.  I must give credit to Claudia for the paper 'ribbon' and button idea.  I saw this on one of her cards and just loved the idea.

I colored this image with PrismaColor Pencils.  It is my very first attempt with them and I couldn't be happier with the result!  To be honest, the pencils have been sitting in a drawer in my studio for ages.  My cousin used to use them, prior to her vision getting really bad.  She then gave them to me since I love to color so much.  I had forgotten all about them, until, for some reason, I opened that drawer a couple weeks ago.  I hadn't colored with pencils in...forever!  Really, it's been a long, long time.  The PrismaColor Pencils are wax based and are very soft.  They're so easy to color with and blend together.  They are absolutely gorgeous on the Kraft paper.  The texture of the Kraft paper is just perfect and gives the color something to grab hold of.

So, because I was experimenting, I completely failed to write down the colors that I used.  I'm sorry!  Hopefully next time.  But, I still have a lot of practicing and experimenting to do with them.  While doing that, I usually just grab at colors to see how they work together.  I often times end up with a mess on my desk, not knowing what worked and what didn't!

Well, that's all I have today!  I hope you enjoyed your visit.  Thanks so much for stopping by : )  Don't forget to start work on your entry for the Little Darlings Challenge!!!

Hi Everyone!  No card today, but CHA is fast approaching and I want to let you all know where to find me if you're going to be in attendance.  I'll be working the Magnolia Mini World booth #2122!!!  I'm bringing my DI's and hoping to get some painting time in as well.  If you're going to be at CHA, please stop by booth #2122 and give a little 'Hello'.  I would love to meet you :-)

On a more personal note, hubby and I attended the Sugarland concert last night and it was FANTABULOUS!!!  We sat (stood really) 9th row center stage.  I think I lost 5 lbs. dancing around.  It was a blast.  Sugarland is my absolute favorite band!  I've been listening to their music nearly every day for about 3 years...no kidding!!!  I just don't ever tire of hearing Jennifer Nettles voice.

Well, I hope the coming week is a good one for you.  We have house guests all week so I'll be pretty busy entertaining :-)

Special Moments Are Always Remembered...

Hi Everyone!  Boy, this week has blown by!  My MIL arrived on Tuesday with my twin 6yr old nieces and it's been crazy busy ever since.  My son and the girls have been swimming, playing board games, playing baseball in the yard, drawing on the patio with chalk, etc.  I barely remember when I had that much energy!  Of course, my Mom thinks I still run on pure adrenaline!  I guess I do keep pretty busy all the time :-)  Actually, tomorrow will be super busy with some friends coming over with their kids to swim and eat all day!  And the weather is supposed to be GORGEOUS!!!

So my hubby pointed out that my last post, where I talked about fireworks, was probably the most negative he's ever heard me write on my blog.  I'm sooooo sorry!  I didn't mean to come across that way.  I must have been in a weird mood when writing that post.

Well, I'm back to my normal self now and I have a new card to show you.  Last Saturday was my monthly card class at my house.  The ladies that come are sooooo much fun!  We have a great time and I look forward to it each and every month.  If my hubby would put up with it weekly, I would definitely schedule it!

This month I decided to work with one of my Little Darlings rubber stamps.  I chose 'Go Girl Go' because I just love her...and because I had already colored her!  Hehehe :-)

Here's my card...

Special Moments Are Always Remembered
So this is how I put a card together when I'm in a huge hurry...I already confessed to the ladies in my class, so I will clue you all in as well.  My days have been so busy that I keep forgetting which day it actually is!  At 7pm on Friday night, I remembered that my card class was meeting early the next morning.  OMG!!!  To top it off, we were supposed to meet friends to watch fireworks at 8:20pm.  Now what!  I was also in the middle of scarfing down a cheeseburger.  Luckily I didn't choke on it!  LOL!  Long story short...I tossed the burger aside and raced up to my studio to begin assembling as quickly as I could and with no actual direction in mind.  I left for the fireworks and returned after midnight to put my son to bed and finish the card and cutting the class materials.  I was in bed at 1:30am.  Zzzzzzzz.........

So, I just love the way my card turned out!  As mentioned, this sweet image is Little Darlings' 'Go Girl Go' and she's available exclusively at Love To Stamp.  Don't you just love her?  She's absolutely carefree and having a blast!  I paired her with dp's from Basic Grey's 'Out of Print' collection.  The ribbon and doily are from my stash.  I bought the flowers from the Magnolia shop when I visited Sweden last Fall.  The brown trim was punched using a MS border punch.  The sentiment is from my collection but I can't remember the manufacturer right now.  Sorry!

The image was colored using Copic markers.  Here are the details:

E000, E00, E11, E13, E41, E42, E43, E44
R0000, R20, R30, R81, R83, R85
YG01, YG21, YG91, YG95, YG97
B0000, B00, B60
W00, W1, W3, W5
N0, N1
Well, that's it for me today!  I do hope you enjoyed my card :-)  Thank you so much for stopping by!

Happiness is in the Little Things...

Hi Everyone!  Well, we've reached the end of another week.  They sure go by fast!  Today we've got some friends over to swim, play and eat.  We don't have a lot of plans this weekend, but we're going to take our son to see some fireworks one night.  I'm surprised he's not sick on them from our trip to Disney!  I am!  I'm not big into fireworks to begin with.  Once they send up a couple, I'm good to go.  After that it's just the same old same old until the end when they shoot off so many that you can't even see them through the smoke!  Besides, I don't know about where you all live, but here in Michigan people start with fireworks in early June and they continue through August.  It's absolutely ridiculous and it drives our dog bonkers.  Which  in turn drives me BONKERS!!!

Magnolia-licious DT Challenge

It's time for another Magnolia-licious challenge and the fabulously talented Mindy put together a fantastic sketch for us to work with.  You can get all of the details over at the Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog, but here's the sketch so you can get those creative juices flowing.

Mag-licious July sketch

The sketch was a lot of fun to work with. I rotated it 90 degrees because I wanted the sentiment to be in the upper right corner. I'm really pleased with the results. Anyway, I think sketches always make card making extra interesting.  So I hope you'll join in on the fun. I can't wait to see what you make!

Happiness is in the Little Things

I chose to work with #275 Tilda with Lace Jeans and #404 Mini Wilma with Rose.  Both are available at Magnolia-licious right now.  I paired them with a combination of dp's by My Mind's Eye:  Stella Rose 'Hazel'; Hip Hip Hooray 'Boy'; and Hip Hip Hooray 'Girl'.  They weren't designed to go together, but I love how they look!  It was a lot of fun to mix things up a bit instead of just picking patterns from a pre-designed paper pad.  The gorgeous blue flowers are from KaiserCraft.  The pack is called 'Sage' and they, along with many other colors, are available at Love To Stamp.  I just love these flower packs!  You get a variety of flower types, in different sizes, and varying shades of the same color.  THEY'RE AWESOME and a new favorite of mine!  I chose a sentiment from Whimsy's 'Magical Mini Letter Seals' set, which is also available at Love To Stamp.  The ribbon and big pearl brad are from my stash.  You can't really see it in the photo, but I gave the bows a coat of Star Dust Stickles.

I colored the images with a combination of Copic markers and watercolor with Ranger DI's.  Strangely, I didn't write down the Copic colors, but the DI details are below:

antique linen, vintage photo, walnut stain, black soot, weathered wood, tumbled glass, worn lipstick, fired brick, shabby shutters, peeled paint

On a more personal note, I've got out-of-town guests arriving on July 5th and they're staying til I leave for CHA on the 17th.  So, I may not have as much time in my studio as I would like :-(  But, as I mentioned, CHA is coming up quick and I CANNOT WAIT!  I'll be running the Magnolia Mini Booth, so if you're there I would love it if you would stop by and say 'Hello' :-)  This time I get to meet and spend time with another very talented sweetheart...Ruby Montes!  Yay!  She'll be coloring Magnolia Mini images for everyone to see.  And, if I remember correctly, the fabulous Patti Jo Skogquist may be there as well.  How awesome!!!

Well, that's all I have to show you today.  Thank you so much for stopping in and taking a peek at my work.  I always enjoy the comments that you leave, so thank you for taking the time.

Big Hugs to you all!
