Rah Rah Sis Boom Bah!!!

Hi Everyone!!!  I hope all is well with each of you!  Things here in Michigan are just fine.  Still hoping for some consistency in the weather.  My ideal summer day is sunny, 85-90 degrees, and a whole lot of friends around the pool.  We haven't had too many days that meet that criteria yet :-(

But, a big spot of sunshine in my life last week was a surprise package from Magnolia that contained my stamp kit.  Yay!  I couldn't wait to find time to ink one up!  Here she is :-)

Rah Rah Sis Boom Bah!!!
I have absolutely no idea what this little cutie is actually named.  I call her 'Cheerleader Tilda'.  I wonder if I'm right???  I'm sure she will be available at Magnolia-licious really, really soon!  Anyway, I was digging through a stack of 12x12 papers that I love but never remember to use, and I found these dp's from Pebbles.  They immediately reminded me of my wonderful friend, Mindy, so I tried to channel her when coloring Tilda in a pink/white/brown combo.  Those of you that know Mindy know that this is a favorite color combo for her.  Those of you that know me have probably never seen me use it!  Hah!  I actually love the color combo, but I always seem to work with darker, richer colors.  Even here my pinks and browns are kinda dark!  Oh well, I tried!  The flowers and leaves are from WOC.  The pink velvet ribbon and silk flower in the middle of it are from my stash.  That gorgeous white lace in the background with the pink running through it is from the local craft store.  The silver corner piece is also from WOC.  I used a Magnolia dragonfly die to cut the little craft dragonfly that is perched by the rose on the left.  Oh yeah, I almost forgot...the bottom border was achieved by using a MS punch.
I colored this gorgeous girl with Copic markers.  I'm really hooked on them again!  I haven't worked with my inks in quite a while!  Anyway...the marker details are below:

E0000, 000, 00, 01, 11, 13, 41, 42, 43, 44, R20, 30, 81, 83, 85, N0, 1, 3, W00, 1, 3, 5

Well, that is absolutely it for me today!  I hope you enjoyed your visit at least half as much as I enjoyed making this card.  It was a true joy :-)  Thank you so much for stopping by!

The Seeds of Life...

Happy Monday Everyone!  Wow!  Did that weekend go fast or what?  Keeping in mind that my son is 7 years old, he asked me the other day why the weekend couldn't be 5 days and the work week be 2 days?  LOL!!!  I said "Yeah, someone really got that one wrong, didn't they?"  Well, anyway, we had a pretty full weekend.  We ended it yesterday with some great friends over to swim for the day.  What fun we had!  It didn't rain and I ate too much!  Right now, any day that it doesn't rain is a perfect day :-)

The Official Magnolia Inspiration Challenge

Welcome to challenge #4!  Our theme this week is 'shimmer and pearls'.  It's a super easy and fun challenge to play along with, so I will be looking for your card!!!  Don't forget to check out TOMIC site for all of the challenge details.  You can get a peek at the other DT projects there for even more inspiration.  They're sure to have some wonderful things for you to see!!!

The Seeds of Life
This little cutie is #324 Seeding Tilda and she's from Magnolia's new 'Sweet Rainbow' collection.  She's currently available at Magnolia-licious in both original and mini size.  I paired her with #405 Tulip Walkway from the 'Butterfly Dreams' collection.

The gorgeous dp's are from the BG 'Out of Print' paper pad which is available at Love To Stamp.  I LOOOOOOVE this paper pad!!!  The colors and patterns are very lively and there is so much going on so they create a tremendous amount of interest as a back drop for a colored/painted image.  You'll be seeing them A LOT from me!

I used pearls from my stash to accentuate the frame around the image, as well as for a little added interest in the corner and on the satin ribbon (also from my stash).  The lace and flowers are from WOC.  I used my Bow Easy to create the perfect little satin bow.  And the shimmer???  I heavily coated the entire card with Pearl Glimmer Mist, but it doesn't show on the photo :-(  It really looks pretty IRL though!

I colored the images with Copic markers.  Here are the details:

E000, 00, 01, 11, 13, 41, 42, 43, 44, R00, 20, 30, Y21, 23, G12, 24, YG17, 61, 91, B0000, 00, N0, W1

That's it for me today!  I hope you enjoyed my project.  Thank you so much for stopping by!!!

Happy 4th of July! (a little early...hehe)

Happy Day Everyone!!!  Boy Oh Boy have I got a lot goin' on these days!  Whew!  So much that I did something that I don't like to do!  Shame on me!  I have been very short on crafting time lately, so instead of skipping a DT challenge...I combined two of them!!!  Oh, I know!  I'm not happy with myself either.  But it was the better of the two options that I had facing me.

So...which challenges did I combine?

Little Darlings Challenges
PaperPlay Challenges

The Little Darlings Challenge #2 started yesterday and runs through July 12th.  We're sponsored by Love to Stamp and you can win a gift voucher to the store.  The theme this time is 'favorite color combo'.  Well, I don't exactly have a favorite color combo, but I do have a love for deep, rich colors.  And, with the Indendence Day celebration right around the corner, I chose to work with red, white, and blue.  The Little Darlings Challenges run on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month, and there is an extra week this time around so you have some extra days to get your entry in.  I hope to see you there this time!!!  And don't forget to mosey on over to check out the Little Darlings DT projects...THEY ARE SPECTACULAR - SPECTACULAR!!!

Over at PaperPlay Challenges we have a 'Stars & Stripes' theme!  This week's sponsor is Just Some Lines.  I hope you'll take the time to checkout all of the DT projects.  We've got a really talented group of designers :-)  Also, you have one week to get your entry in.  I can't wait to see what you make!

Happy 4th of July
I wanted to make a card for Independence Day - July 4th, just so I could use my new BoBunny 'Liberty' paper pad.  I absolutely LOVE THIS PAPER!!!  There are still a few available at Love To Stamp, but when they're gone...they're gone!  There are actually a lot of new 6x6 paper pads in the store right now that you may want to check out!  Anyway, I chose to work with the Little Darlings 'Just Swingin' image from the new Summer Release 2.  My gosh!  If she doesn't just look like any young girl just swingin', with no worries.  Oh to feel like that again!  When I was a kid, we had a wooded area behind our house.  There was a tree fort in one of the big trees and the only way to get down from it was to swing like Tarzan from a rubber hose.  You could hold on and swing back and forth forever!  That's what this image reminds me of :-)

Because there is so much going on with the dp's, I didn't add too much in the way of embellishments.  I cut the background from the dp's with SB nesties and it really brings the whole card to life!  I wrapped some string around the card a few times and laced up some buttons.  The sentiment is from my stash and no longer has the name of the manufacturer on it.  The star charm is also from my stash.  I colored the image with Copic markers.  The details are below:

E0000, 00, 01, 11, 13, 41, 42, 43, 50, NO, 1, 3, 5, 7, C00, Y21, YR23, R30, 37, B21, 26

That's it for today!  Thank you so much for stopping by.  I hope you enjoyed your visit :-)

Mini Twins...

Happy Wednesday Everyone!  I hope you're all having a great week so far.  Mine has been a pretty busy one.  Thank you for taking a moment to stop by in your busy day.

We've got a black/white + one challenge going on at Magnolia-licious Highlites right now.  Monday's blog hop was fantastic wasn't it?  I actually made a different card for it initially, but the color didn't turn out quite as I had hoped, so I made another card for the challenge.  Anyway, I decided to show you the first card since the colors really pop and the dp's are gorgeous.

Here it is...

Mini Twins
These little sisters are #3011 Mini Tilda with Staw Hat and #321 Mini Hello Little Butterfly.  You can get them both at Magnolia-licious right now.  I paired them with a combo of dp's from LilyBee Design - 'This & That' and 'Happily Lost' collections.  Both are available at Love To Stamp.  I just love the LilyBee papers.  They have a really great texture and the patterns/colors are so gorgeous.  I have a really easy time combining papers across collections.

The gorgeous thick black ribbon is from American Crafts.  It really brought this card to life.  The little black gems are from my stash.  I cut the image with a SB circle nestie.  All flowers are from WOC.

I colored the images with Copic markers.  As mentioned above, the challenge was black/white + one other color.  I had colored the girls clothes to perfectly match the paper and flowers.  Then, I made the mistake of bringing in a little grey for the shadows and blending.  As I blended, the color changed to more of a purple-ish.  I couldn't leave it like that in the one section, so I continued with it all over.  So, the clothes no longer perfectly match the dp's, but it's not all that bad either.  I still think it's a beautiful card :-)

E000, 00, 01, 11, 13, W00, 1, N0, 1, 3, 5, 7, RV25

That's all I have today.  Thank you so much for stopping by :-)

Kneeling Tilda...

Happy Monday Everyone! Today is a very big day and for 2 very big reasons!!!...

And second...

Magnolia-licious DT Blog Hop

Yay!!!  It's that time again!!!  We've got another Magnolia-licious DT Blog Hop for ya!  This time the challenge is Black & White with Pop!  Translated it means...black and white with a pop of one other color.  I chose burgandy!  Surprising?  I think not.  You know how much I love to work with deep, rich, warm colors.  Check out the Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenges blog for all of the details of how you can enter your own project in the challenge.

I am the last stop on the Hop today.  If you came to me by way of Patti Jo's blog, then you're doing great.  If not, you can start from the beginning at Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenges.  You won't want to miss the talent of this awesome Design Team!

Kneeling Tilda
I chose to work with this little sweetheart, #259 Kneeling Tilda, from Magnolia's new 'Sweet Rainbow' collection.  She's just adorable and is available at Magnolia-licious right now!!!  I paired her with dp's from 7Gypsies.  Cs is Bazzill.  The flowers are from Magnolia and WOC.  The ribbon is from my stash and the lace is from WOC.  I cut the image and background with SB dies.

I colored Tilda with Copic markers.  The details are below:

W00, 1, 3, N0, 1, 3, 5, 7, R00, 20, 30, 39

Well, that is it for me today!  I hope you'll leave a little note to let me know you were here.  I really do enjoy reading them :-)

Have a great day!

Sneak Peek!!!

Little Darlings Sneak Peek - Summer Release II

Hi Everyone!  It's Sneak Peek Day 2 and I'm showing off one of my favorites from the LD Summer Release II.  In reality, they're all my faves, but I'm partial to the little boys because of my son :-)  Here's a tidbit of information that you may not know about this LD boy...his name is 'Conner' and he's about 3 years old.  He's the cutest little thing and he really reminds me of my son at his age...completely carefree and just enjoying life!

Here, 'Conner' is going for a ride on the back of his turtle friend and they're travelling "Slow and Steady".  'Conner' loves all living things and has a wonderful imagination.  I wonder where they're headed???

Slow and Steady
This image is called 'Slow and Steady' and will be available at Love To Stamp on June 20th!!!  I've paired him with dp's by Crate Paper from the 'Toy Box' collection.  They are available right now at Love To Stamp.  Cs is by Bazzill.  The sweet sentiment is from the Whimsy Stamps 'Magical Mini Letter Seals' set, also available at Love To Stamp.  Both the ribbon and buttons are from my stash.

I've colored this Little Darling with Copic markers.  The details are below:

E000, 00, 01, 11, 13, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 50, 81
YG91, 95, 95
B0000, 00, 21, 23, 24
R20, 22, 24, 27
W1, 3
N1, 3

Well, that's all I have to show you today!  Be sure to stop by the Love To Stamp Blog to get more information on the sneak peeks.  Don't forget to leave a comment on the store blog so you can get in the running for a special prize

Some new BasicGrey products have been added to the Love To Stamp store and there's a BoBunny special going on for Independence Day.  Thought you might want to check them out!

Also, the Little Darlings Challenge is still going on.  The theme is 'Summer' and you can enter with any stamp.  However, if you happen to win with a Little Darlings stamp you get a bigger prize!  The current challenge will run til midnight EST on June 21st.  Good luck!

As for me, I'm signing off!  I hope you'll leave me a little comment to let me know that you were here!

Happy Father's Day! (a little early...heehee)

PaperPlay Challenges!!!

Hi Everyone!  Well, I'm a day late with my PaperPlay Challenges card...I'm sooooo sorry!  Wednesday was my son's last day of school and now my whole schedule is flip flopped!  Anyway, DT "A" was challenged this week to a 'Father's Day' theme.  How fitting since the big day is right around the corner!  Funny how that works out, huh?  My store, Love To Stamp, just happens to be the sponsor too!!!  Feel free to head on over there and take a peek at what's in stock.  I've added all kinds of goodies recently!  Back to the challenge, all you need to do is make a project with a Father's Day theme!  It's that simple!  I can't wait to see what you come up with :-)  Be sure to stop by the other DT gals blogs to see what they have to show.  All the girls have really outdone themselves with this challenge!

Here's my project...

Happy Father's Day
This little cutie pie is my Little Darlings 'Soooo Big' image.  He's available exclusively at Love To Stamp.  I paired him with this wonderful #570 Windmill by Magnolia.  They're in stock right now at Magnolia-licious.  The sentiment is by A Muse ArtStamps.  The gorgeous dp's are from the My Mind's Eye - Lime Twist "Fly a Kite" collection and are also available right now at Love To Stamp.  To embellish, I very simply wrapped some string around the card and added a couple of brads...all from my stash.  I like to keep masculine cards a little more plain.  It just doesn't seem proper to add the flowers and frills to them.

I colored the entire scene with Copic markers.  I had a huge pile of markers and completely forgot to write them down before I started putting them away.  I was half way through cleaning up when I realized it, but it was too late :-(  I used dots for the background.  I saw the technique in the Summertime issue of Magnolia Ink.  Chris Dark did a much better job with it though!  This was my first attempt and I have a loooooong way to go before I'm really happy with it.  I really need to work on the dimension of the landscape.  I like the dotted clouds though.  I think they turned out pretty good for a first try!

Well, that's it for me today!  Thank you so much for stopping by :-)  I hope you'll leave me a little note to let me know that you were here!

Summer Luvin'...

Little Darlings Challenges

Happy Wednesday Everyone!  We've got the very first official Little Darlings Challenge today!  Whoo Hoo!  I'm so excited!  The DT gals have a wonderful show for you today.  We've got a super simple 'Summer' theme to make it easy and fun for everyone to play along.  I know a lot of you have your Little Darlings (LD) stamps by now so I'm hoping to see a lot of entries in the challenge.  You can catch all of the challenge details and links to the DT gals blogs at the Little Darlings Challenges blog.  Don't forget, we've got a blinkie available to you there too if you'd like to help spread the word :-)

What's the prize???  Well, we're sponsored by Love To Stamp and you have the opportunity to win a gift voucher to the Love To Stamp store!  It's the place to find the Little Darlings stamps as well as many more of your favorite card making products.

I actually have two projects to show you today.  I was so excited to color both of these images since I hadn't gotten to them yet.  Both projects were a lot of fun :-)

First up is...

Sailboat of Dreams
After selecting the 'Sailboat of Dreams' image, I went on a hunt for dp's.  I wanted some hot summer colors and grabbed the Lily Bee Design 'Happily Lost' collection.  The colors just scream SUMMER FUN!  You can get both the image and the dp's at Love To Stamp.  I cut the image and background with SB nesties.  The looped border was cut with a MS punch.  All flowers are from WOC and the ribbon came from my personal stash.  Cs this time is by SU.

I colored the image and background with Copic markers, and there were A LOT of them!!!  Thank goodness for my Cryogen paper because everything blended so beautifully.  Whew!  Here are the color details:

E0000, 00, 01, 11, 13, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 50
R20, 02
RV0000, 11, 14
B0000, 00, 60
BG10, 70, 72, 75
Y11, 15, 21, 35
N0, N1

Next up...

Soooo Big!

Each year I like to make a little something for my son's 2 main teachers.  I've really been enjoying the corner bookmark that I made for myself a few weeks back, so I decided to make them for my son's teachers.  Since I have a little boy, the Little Darlings 'Soooo Big' image was the perfect choice!  My son just saw these bookmarks and asked me to make one for him.  He wants me to make the little boy look just like him.  He's soooo SWEET!  Anyway...the dp's are from JilliBean Soup's 'Watermelon' collection and they are available at Love To Stamp.  The flowers are from WOC and I think the lace is by American Crafts.  The ribbon is from my stash.  The really cool postage stamp sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps 'Postage Stamps' set and is also available at Love To Stamp.

Here you can see how the bookmark is used.  It just hangs on the corner of your page and keeps your place for you.  It's a super cute decoration too :-)

I colored the image with Copic markers but failed to write down the details.  I'm sorry!  I was in a hurry :-(

Don't forget to check out the Little Darlings Challenges blog to get the details so you too can enter the challenge!

Well, that's it for me today!  I really hope you enjoyed your visit.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  I hope you'll leave me a little note to let me know that you were here!!!

Monday, June 6, 2011

Hello Everyone and Happy Monday to you!!!  Well, summer has finally made its way to Michigan.  We had a few days in the 80's.  The pool is ready...crystal clear and heated to 88 degrees.  Can you say "Ahhhh"?

So, my son's last day of school is on Wednesday.  I still can't believe it!  How did the year go by so fast?  He's 7 years old and it seems like only yesterday he was a wobbly toddler!  Just a few more inches and he'll be as tall as my shoulder.  Oy!

We had very busy weekend.  On Saturday, we had a 50th birthday celebration for one of my really good friends.  Her actual birthday is tomorrow.  On Sunday, we celebrated my Dad's 69th birthday!  Oy again!  How is it that he gets older and I don't???  His actual birthday is tomorrow too.

Anyway, on to the reason we're here...

The Official Magnolia Inspiration Challenge
(aka "TOMIC")

Today is the grand opening of The Official Magnolia Inspiration Challenge (TOMIC) blog!!!  Many of the Magnolia DT members are participating in this weekly challenge blog.  It is sponsored by Magnolia and they are offering a secret prize for the winner.  Each week, on Mondays, there will be a new challenge and we hope that you will all participate.  All of the rules are listed in the left sidebar of TOMIC.

Our first challenge has a birthday theme.  Here's my project...I hope you like it :-)

Happy Birthday
I decided to work with 2 Magnolia images:  Tilda with Cake from the You Are So Special collection, and #628 Kitchen.  You can get them both at Magnolia-licious.  I paired them with dp's from Lily Bee Design's 'This & That' collection, available now at Love To Stamp.  Cs is from Bazzill.

All flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The ribbon is from my stash and I just knotted it this time instead of a bow.  I like it for a change.  The sentiment is new from Whimsy Stamps 'Party Mini Letter Seals' and is available at Love To Stamp.

I colored the images with Copics.  The details are below:

E000, 00, 01, 11, 13, 41, 42, 43, 44, 50, Y18, 21, 38, W00, 1, 3, 5, 7, N0, 1, 3, YR30, R20, 30, 37, 39, B21, 23

That's it for today!  I hope you'll play along with the TOMIC birthday challenge.  I can't wait to see what you make!  I also hope that you'll leave me a little comment so that I know you stopped by.

Thanks so much!

Wishing you moments filled with wonder...

Happy Saturday Everyone!  Oh, how I hope you're having a great weekend so far!  Today is the day of the monthly card class that I have at my house.  We get together on the first Saturday of each month.  This month I promised the ladies that I would do something frilly and girly.  Well, this is probably one of the girliest cards I've ever made...and I LOVE IT!

Wishing You Moments Filled with Wonder

This little cutie pie is a Sarah Kay image for Stampavie that I've had for quite a while.  I've never had the time to ink it up so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity.  The image is called 'Isabelle with Puppy Coco'.  I paired the image with dp's from Crate Paper and they are absolutely stunning!  I will be stocking them at Love To Stamp very soon so you can get your own.

I used several SB nestie dies to cut and mount the image and sentiment.  The sentiment is new from Whimsy Stamps 'Magical Mini Letter Seals' and is currently available at Love To Stamp.  The tag was cut from the same dp's using a Magnolia DooHickey Vintage Tag Die, which you can get at Magnolia-licious.  The dragonflies were also cut using a Magnolia DooHickey die.  All flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts...per usual :-)  The Gems are from my stash.  All edges have been rubbed with a bit of Ranger DI in walnut stain.

Here is another angled view just so you can see all of the dimension in this card.  You can also get a little peek at the inside where one can leave a handwritten note.

This image has been colored with Copic markers.  Here are the details:

Skin:  E000, 00, 11, 13, R20, 30
Hair:  Y21, E43
Hat:  E41, 42, 43
Pants:  RV00, 14, 21, 23, N0, 1, 3
Scarf:  RV14, 21
Ground:  YG23, 91, 97, 0 (colorless blender)
Flower:  Y21
Dog:  E000, 23, 31, 33
Sky:  B0000, 60, 0 (colorless blender)

Well, that is it for today!  I wish you all a fabulous rest of the weekend.  I would love it if you would leave a little comment to let me know that you stopped by today :-)

Tilda and Her Bunny...

Hi Everyone!  I hope all of you in the States had a great holiday weekend!  Ours was both busy and relaxing.  My husband and son had a Father/Son afternoon on Saturday, which gave me some time in my studio.  On Sunday, I made my way to the the nursery and finally bought flowers for the beds, front porch, and back patio.  My son helped me pull weeds too.  I've been so busy with my new Love To Stamp store and all of my other commitments, that I forgot all about my love for gardening!  I stood in my backyard looking at the weed growth and realized that the house looked as if we'd sold it to people that just didn't give a hoot!  So, I had a nice relaxing trip to the nursery with my son.  He was so excited to pick out the petunias for the pots on the back patio.  He's such a sweetie!

Anyway, on to the reason we're here...

Magnolia-licious DT

It's time for another Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge!!!  This time Janiel has challenged us to do a project using only Magnolia Minis!  What fun!  You can play along to!  Get all of the details over at the Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog.  I can't wait to see what you come up with!!!

Tilda and her Bunny
I chose to work with #363 Mini Tilda and Her Bunny, and paired her with #657 Mini Spring Tree.  Both are available at Magnolia-licious right now.  The gorgeous dp's are from Jillibean Soup's 'Spotted Owl Soup' collection and you can get them at Love To Stamp while supplies last.  All cs is by Bazzill.

As usual, the flowers are from WOC.  The lace is from American Crafts and I gathered it a bit with some thread to make a backgroud for one of the blue flowers.  My really good friend, Mindy, sent me a little package that included some of the flowers and the feather.  Thank you Mindy!!!   Big Hugs!!!  I love the nice, soft touch that the feather lends.  The pearls are from a Prima pack that I've picked from over and over again.  These were the last of it.

I colored these images with a combo of Copic markers and watercolor with Ranger distress inks.  Here are the details:

Copics:  E000, 00, 01, 11, 13, Y08, 35

DI's:  black soot, peeled paint, shabby shutters, weathered wood, tumbled glass, antique linen, walnut stain, vintage photo

That's it for today!  Don't forget about the contest over at Little Darlings Challenges!  There's still time to enter to win some fabulous prizes!
