How about a MINI hug?

Hi Everyone!  To those of you in the States, I hope you're all recovered from the Thanksgiving holiday.  To everyone else, I hope you had a terrific weekend.  Here in the Hunt household, we had a very busy weekend and a delicious Thanksgiving. We went to my brother's house for Thanksgiving dinner and had a great time. It was a small gathering consisting of us, my parents and my brother's family, but it was just wonderful. Our son had an awesome time playing with his cousins and their new kitten (she's a real cutie). The adults got caught up on 'what's hapnin'. And then we parted so we could all retreat to bed with full tummies. I think I gained 3 lbs! We spent the better part of Friday pulling out and putting up Christmas decorations inside and outside the house. On Saturday my cold was at it's worst and I spent the day under a blanket on the sofa.  I've had this doggone cold for nearly 3 weeks now and I'm fed up!  Arrrggghhhhh!   Yesterday, my husband had a cyclocross race in Ohio so my son and I spent the day together.  We finished decorating the Christmas tree and played some games.  I was feeling much better so it was a really nice day to spend together.

I also retreated to my craft room for about 30 minutes yesterday.  I hadn't had time or felt well enough to create in several days, so I was just dying to color something!  Since it was just my son and I, I didn't want to spend too much time in my craft room, so I decided to make a really quick Christmas card.

Now for the big news!!!  Spread the word!!!
Magnolia Mini World - Starting today, Magnolia-licious is offering the first ever Merry Christmas 2010 collection in miniature.  That's right!  You can get the Christmas 2010 collection of the Magnolia Mini World, plus many of the Christmas images from previous collections!!!  These mini images are so much fun to work with.  It opens up a whole new world of craft projects to create because you can now fit an entire Magnolia image in a very small space.  I just love them!
Here's my project.  I hope you like it...
I can't believe that I made a card with a colored/painted image in only 30 minutes!!!   It usually takes me 3 hours!  It's because I used an image from Mini Magnolia World.  Because they're so small, they make for a really quick color.  I chose to work with Mini Snowy Hug because I love the Magnolia snowmen.  I also decided to do a card, but not just any card.  I purchased some of the new Spellbinder's holiday dies and was determined to use one.  The image just happened to fit perfectly on the Spellbinder's Holiday Tree so that's the direction I took.  I placed the die just above the score line of the card and ran it through my Big Shot, preserving the score line so the card will still open and close properly.  I applied a star sticker to white cs and cut it out, making it more durable. I then applied diamond Stickles to it. The image also got a bunch of stardust Stickles. I added LYB gems to the branches of the tree to accentuate the shape.
The inside is very simple.  I stamped a sentiment in silver by TPC Studios and let it speak for itself.

I colored the image with a combo of Copic markers and Ranger Distress Inks.  As I mentioned, I was in a hurry and, without thinking, I cleaned up my markers and inks before jotting down the colors.  What a goof!  But, for a 30 minute project, I couldn't be happier with the result.  It's simple...yet sweet :-)
I hope you enjoyed my 'mini' project today.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  I'd love for you to leave a little comment so that I know you were here.  I read every one of them and they always bring a smile to my face.  Thanks so much!

Happy Monday To Ya'll!

I have some fun and exciting news to spread today, but it's still hush-hush for a tiny bit longer.  Please check back later today to find out what it is.  I'll also have a little something to show you :-)

See you in a bit!!!

Santa Edwin...

Hey Everybody!!!  I can't get over how fast time goes by!  I've been working to get caught up on my commitments and my projects.  I was working on a project for next week and really having trouble with it.  I colored some images that I just didn't like on my project (which is a secret for now).  So, I decided to take one of the images and make a card with it.  I haven't worked with Magnolia's 'Edwin' for a while, so this was a bunch of fun.  I'm still loving the whole Christmas theme and I'm trying to ink up every one of my images from Magnolia's 'Merry Christmas 2010' collection before the big day arrives.

Here's my card...I hope you like it!

This great little guy is '#173 Santa Edwin'!  I think he is just adorable sitting there looking at the Christmas list.  I've paired him with #482 Snowy Circle and #743 Merry Christmas.  I get all of my Magnolia stamps at Magnolia-licious because they truly do have the best selection and best prices in the United States.  Shipping is very fast and they have fantastic customer service.

The dp's I selected are from PinkPaislee's 'Father Christmas' collection.  It's one of my absolute favorite collections this year.  Cs is Bazzill, of course.  Edwin is sitting mounted to a background cut with my Spellbinder's Nestabilities.  I used Stickles all over the place in Stardust and Xmas Red.  The cute little felt ornament is by Little Yellow Bicycle.

I colored Edwin with a combo of Copic markers and watercolor with Ranger DI's.  Details are below:

Copics: E000, 00, 02, 41, 44, R20, N1, 3

DI's: walnut stain, black soot, peeled paint, weathered wood, antique linen

That's all I have for today.  To all of you in the USA, I hope you have a very Happy Thanksgiving.  To everyone else, have a wonderful day.  Thanks so much for visiting :-)

Tilda with Fir...

Hi Everyone!  It's getting pretty cold here in Michigan!  Before we know it, the snow will be here and we'll be sloshing around in our boots wearing hats and mittens.  How many months til spring???

So, I've been fighting a cold for about a week and a half now.  Got it from my hubby, although he denies it saying he's been staying away from me.  He doesn't get the whole 'airborne' virus thing.  I think I'm at the end of it though, and just have to deal with the lingering stuffy head and congested cough.  Because of my cold, my energy level has been a bit low so this card took several days to complete.  Baby steps ya know!  I'm still lovin' the Christmas cards and this one probably has more sparkle than any other card I've ever made.  I hope you enjoy it...

Tilda with Fir

This little sweetie is #3080 Tilda with Fir and I paired her with #1416 Snowflakes.  They are both from Magnolia's Merry Christmas 2010 collection and you can order them, and all the others, at Magnolia-licious.
These stunning dp's are from Dovercraft's 'Let It Snow' collection.  Cs is Bazzill, as usual.  The silver cs is from the Magnolia shop in Sweden.  The big blue snowflake is an ornament from the local craft store.  The other snowflakes and the gem are from my stash.  I stamped the snowflakes with SU Bashful Blue.  The really cool sentiment is something new from Whimsy Stamps titled Winter Letter Seals.  I went a little crazy with stardust Stickles ALL OVER THE PLACE!  It's on the snowflakes, the fur on Tilda's coat, her mittens, the snow on the ground, and on the sentiment.

I colored this little lady with a combo of Copic markers and watercolor with Ranger Distress Inks.  Here are the details:

Copics:  E000, 00, 02, R20, RV21

DI's: weathered wood, black soot, broken china, forest moss, shabby shutters, walnut stain, antique linen

Well, that's it for today!  I really hope you enjoyed my project.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  I really hope you'll leave me a little comment letting me know you were here.

Ciao for now,

Christmas Ornaments...

Hello Everyone!!!  It's Blog Hop time again!!!  This month's theme is something for the home.  After much thought about what to make, I settled on Christmas ornaments since we'll all be ready to decorate our homes for Christmas really soon.  I'm absolutely LOVING the new Magnolia Merry Christmas collection.  They are so much fun to color and always bring a smile to my face when I look at them.  So many of the images are extremely versatile and can be used throughout the winter season or for other occasions.  They are all available at Magnolia-licious, so make sure to head over there and get your order in!

If you've come to my blog by way of Sharon's blog, then you're on the right track.  If not, then be sure to catch it from the beginning at Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog.  The ladies have put together some amazing sights for you to see.  There you can also get the details of how to enter your own project and join in on the fun!!!

And now for the reveal...

An 'Ornamental' Magnolia Mini World!!!

The Mini's are coming!!!...The Mini's are coming!!!  I have so loved working with these mini Magnolia images.  They are so quick to color and easy to combine together.  They are soon to be released at Magnolia-licious as Magnolia Mini World.  The Christmas collection will be available first and this is a little sneeky peek just for you.

When in Boras, Sweden, Diana and I stopped by a gorgeous flower shop a few times.  We both fell in love with these heart ornaments.  It originally had a different image on it, which I promptly removed and replaced with this Mini Angel Tilda from the Magnolia Mini World -Merry Christmas Collection.  Her wings, halo and the edges of the heart got a bit of diamond and stardust Stickles.

I found this gorgeous frame ornament in a local craft store.  It's the perfect size for a mini Magnolia image.  I may have to go and purchase a few more so I can decorate my own mini Magnolia tree for the holidays!  I've featured Mini Jolly Wreath from the Magnolia Mini World -Merry Christmas Collection.  Her wings got a dab of stardust Stickles.

In case you're wondering, I bought the little winter tree a couple months ago at Canterbury Village, which is a year-round Christmas shop in Lake Orion, MI.

Anyway, I colored both images with Copic markers and watercolor with Ranger Distress Inks.  The details are as follows:

Copics: E00, 000, 02, 41, 42, 43, 44, R20, 37, 39, YR00, W00, 1, 3, 5

DI's: weathered wood, antique linen, walnut stain, forest moss, shabby shutters, tumbled glass

That's all I have for you today.  Thank you so much for dropping by.  This is the final stop on the hop and I really hope you enjoyed it.  We all had a blast sharing our projects with you.  Be sure to stop by Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog to enter your own project into the challenge.  And, head on over to Magnolia-licious to get your Christmas stamps in time to make some projects before Christmas!

Brrrr..It's Cold. I need a 'Snowy Hug'

Hello Again!!!  Wow, what an exciting weekend we had!  On Saturday I taught a class showing how to watercolor with distress inks.  Shout out to you ladies!!!  We had really great turn out and I think everyone had a good time and learned a little.  I met some great ladies and I'm hoping to see them all again at come card classes and workshops in the future.

Now I'm trying to put together some monthly card classes and quarterly workshops, so let me know if you live in the southeastern Michigan area and might be interested.

So, also on Saturday, I received my Magnolia-licous design team package!!!  I got some yummy new Christmas stamps and I finally got to ink one up today.  I chose to start with a stamp that includes a snowman because I love them so much.  I hope you like it...

Snowy Hug

Doesn't that look like a nice warm hug on a cold and snowy day?  Oh how I love this stamp!  Tilda looks so pleased with the little snowman that she built.  This little cutie is called "Snowy Hug" and you can get it at Magnolia-licious.  It looks like it's a very popular image so it's on re-order right now.  But there are still so many other new Magnolia Christmas stamps there to choose from.  I'm sure you'll fall in love with many others.

The dp's and tags are from my favorite MME "Holly Jolly" collection.  I know it's soon, but, I just had to use them again.  All cs is from Bazzill.  I cropped the image to a 4x4 square, used a corner rounder punch, and then matted it with two pieces cut with my new Cricut 'Christmas Cards' cartridge.  Just love it!  Those gorgeous flowers are by Prima.  I grabbed the ribbon and brads from my stash.  I applied diamond and stardust Stickles all over the place.  The pretty little gems are by LYB.  This is a 6x6 card by the way.  I usually use 5.5x5.5, but lately I've been using some larger images and they don't leave much room for embellies with the smaller card.

I colored this image with a combination of Copic markers and watercolors with Ranger DI's.  The details are as follows:

Copics:  E00, 000, 02, 41, 42, 43, 44, R20, C1, 3, B00, BG93, W1, 5

DI's:  fired brick, antique linen, walnut stain, tumbled glass, weathered wood, black soot

I hope you enjoyed my project.  Thank you for stopping by.  As always, thank you for the lovely comments that you leave.  I read every one and they always make my day.

Snowman with a Star...

Happy November Everyone!  Wow, can you believe it's November already???  I can't!  The time sure does fly by.  Did you all have an awesome Halloween last night?  We had a ton of fun.  Some friends of ours came over and went trick-or-treating with us.  My hubby was in Nashville working so we had friends and family over to keep us company.  My parents handed out candy while my friend and her kids went all over the neighborhood with my son and I.  I still can't believe how many kids there are in this neighborhood.  I don't think it'll be this busy in the area that we're moving to.  I guess we'll find out next year!

This week we have meetings scheduled with two builders to discuss designing and building our house.  Did I mention that we're moving?  We purchased a vacant piece of land in Bloomfield Hills so we can be closer to my son's school and friends.  So, now I get to design a house.  My hubby said that all he wants is his garage space and I can design everything else.  He means it too!  I must say, I'm a little nervous about getting overwhelmed with it all.  But, I guess that's why you hire a builder and architect!  We have three months to design the house as our goal for breaking ground is February 2011.  I hope we make it!

I've been sooooooo lucky this week!  I spent every day in my craft room!!!  Yay me!!!  Last Saturday I received my DT package from Magnolia and I've been working on my next magazine submissions ever since.  I think I'm almost done.  Maybe one more!  I can't stop!  It's a sickness - hehe.

And now for the reason we're here today!  This month's Magnolia-licious DT challenge was up to Barb Hardeman.  She has challenged us to make a shaker card using any Magnolia image.  I've never made a shaker card before now, so I was a little nervous about it.  I kept it in the back of my head all week, trying to figure out what to do with it.  Finally, on Thursday, the weather in Michigan cooled down to a chilly 50 degrees and it was my inspiration!  I thought, if something is going to 'shake' in Michigan in November, it's got to be SNOW!  And 'snow' made me think of a SNOWMAN!!!  I just happened to have a Magnolia snowman image.  I took it out of my 'Christmas' drawer and away I went.  I just love the result!  Thanks so much Barb for the challenge!!!  I never would have made this if it weren't for you :-)

AND, to top it off, you too can join in on the fun!  Hop on over to the Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog and enter your own 'shaker' card.  If you're not sure what to do, HERE's a link to a tutorial that was very helpful to me.

So, without further delay...here's my card.  I hope you like it!

Snowman with a Star
OMGoodness!  Aren't Magnolia snowmen the most gorgeous snowmen stamps ever???  I just love them.  I'm sorry to say that this is the only one that I have.  I'm going to have to order the others!  I just love them!!!  This one is #464 Snowman with Star.  I think he's out of stock at Magnolia-licious right now, but the others are available HERE.  I'm going to head over there momentarily and grab some more for myself - hehe.

These gorgeous dp's are from My Mind's Eye 'Holly Jolly'.  I LOVE THEM!  I've purchased a lot of Christmas papers lately and these are among my favorites.  You'll be seeing more from the collection as the weeks go by.  The pale blue silk ribbon is from the same collection.  I used my favorite smokey brown cs from Bazzill.  The large snowflake is from the craft store's Christmas decor section.  The small one is by Petaloo.  In the center of it is a small little blue gem from Little Yellow Bicycle.  I used the largest Spellbinder's 'Lacey Squares' die to cut the frame around the snowman.  I filled the space between the image and the transparency with Martha Stewart 'Tinsel Glitter' in crystal.  I also applied Stickles in Stardust and Icicle to the snowman's hat and the snow on the ground.

I colored this little cutie with Copic markers and then used watercolor with Ranger Distress Inks on the background.  The details are as follows:

Copics:  C1, 3, W1, 3, 5, 7, N9, E42, 44, 49, R39, 89, G0000, 21, 24, B00, Y11, 21, YR23

DI's:  black soot, weathered wood, wild honey, tumbled glass

Well, that's it for today!  Thank you so much for joining me and for all of the wonderful comments you have left in the past.  They are truly appreciated and I read each and every one with a smile :-)
